Half of that trailer was everything I hate about Holland Spider-Man and the rest was pretty cool.

Despite knowing it was going to happen for months now I still can’t wrap my head around the fact they’re basically adapting One More Day. One More Day ffs :crylaugh:

I still can’t believe we’re getting a live action film with Tom, Tobey and Andrew. Truly blessed.

The trailer could have just been "Hello Peter" and it would be a winner.

I find their audaciousness intriguing. They have SOOOOO many beloved stories to select from and they opt instead for one of the more reviled ones. Totally absurd, but I'm here for the chaotic energy.

I do kinda hope they keep the Holland movies going after this with a trilogy in college.

I've seen people say "um actually it's One Moment in Time they're adapting" as if that isn't tied to OMD and just as bad.

There are a few people on this site that weren’t big fans of it, understandably, but I think most people here enjoyed it.

Marvel worked really hard on that OMD / BND branding. It’s clearly how they wanted us to think of it at the time.

It's the story line where Peter makes a deal with Mephisto to have everyone forget his identity, and it effectively ends his and MJ's marriage. A very hated storyline for those of us who liked their relationship

As I recall Civil War was pretty divisive in comic form and the film version was fine because they focussed on the themes rather than the details that everyone disliked.

From the looks of the trailer, if they're doing the same for OMD, I'm confident they'll do it right.

The difference is that the comic One More Day destroyed decades of continuity for the sake of people who for some reason couldn't possibly fathom Peter having a happy marriage with Mary Jane, as if any of the stories they wrote afterward couldn't just as easily have been written without the damage done.

In this case, they're not doing that. Sure, it's inspired by One More Day, but Peter's not selling his soul and marriage to the devil in return for saving the life of his elderly aunt, he's appealing to Dr. Strange to help him undo an unwanted outing of his secret identity. It's really completely different ball games, and not out of character in this instance.

The best part about OMD was the whole “what did MJ whisper to Mephisto” mystery and how shitty the reveal was.

If you mean the reveal in One Moment In Time, I don't get why they didn't go with the original reveal that clearly they intended from the beginning. It would've been way more emotional, and frankly makes more sense in context, especially with what's happening right now in the comics.

That she would remember everything. It makes the decision all the tragic and thus all the more appealing for Mephisto. And currently, it feels like Mary Jane does remember everything anyway, so... I dunno. Comics are stupid.

I'm treating OMD as an umbrella term for that whole story. As I recall, she initially whispers during OMD and the "reveal" is in the later book, right?

Either way, it was awful and yes, of course, the text in the original panel should have been the answer. It would have been an actual emotional moment rather than what we got. And would have opened the door for a wider variety of stories.

I have my issues with the MCU Spidey Movies even though I like Tom Holland as Peter. However, this looks like its going to be a blast
