Well I don't think Richard ever did blackface so.....

 

Ted danson did it and people seem to still think he’s pretty cool

 

I find Ted Danson kind of annoying now. I liked him in Cheers, and that was it, I think. But Cheers was a different time, a different show.... and you know... Boston.

 

It just reads as so authentic, like you can tell that that has to be a heightened version of their actual friendship in real life.

I'm pretty sure Ted Danson is written to BE annoying on the show.

 

A lot of it is improvised, so there is a lot of themselves in the characters, but exaggerated considerably. George Costanza was based on Larry David, after all.
