  1. HDD2 leans into sci-fi a bit more heavily than 1 but I like that about it.

Welp I cannot lie, I did not hate Don't Breathe 2 as much as I expected. Motivations are completely fucked in this movie and it completely relies on the audience coming to some sort of forgiveness or leniency for the blind man but on its face as a thriller, I thought it worked. Some of the gore/kills were pretty awesome too. Probably won't see it again and I hope they don't make another one though.

A horror masterpiece. Maybe better than the original!

Finally went back and finished the most recent season of Creepshow. Love the idea of an Immersive VR movie pod and hope Justin Long makes one in real life

Trying to find a VCR to watch some stuff on VHS this Halloween season and goddamn I didn't think they'd be so expensive.

Yeah I think the market has gone way up recently, especially online. I'll definitely be checking thrift stores and garage sales instead.

  22. I found a working used one at a church owned thrift store here in Utah a few years ago, and it was priced at $15 so I (drunkenly) changed the price tag to $5 and got it for $5

Gf and I started working our way through our spooky season list early this year. I think I posted about this already, but Final Destination was absolutely hysterical. Might become a yearly watch - it's the right kind of early 00's terrible.

Spider Baby was also a lot of fun, although it was way tamer than I anticipated. The entire dinner scene was brilliant.

I finally got to show her Dream Warriors, too. It was always my favorite movie from the franchise as a kid, and although the first one is objectively the best, DW held up fairly well - the dream sequences and deaths were creative (the marionette scene had us both going "wow") and the weird relationship between the doctor and Nancy was...something. The heroin scene was entirely fucked up but the breathing track marks were definitely memorable.

On another note, super excited because I bought a projector and once we figure out what we're going to do for a screen, outdoor spooky movie nights are going to be a thing.

  24. I think Final Destination is genuinely good lol
