I don't agree, but I fully endorse this take and am here for the ensuing chaos

But anyway, LTJ + HM makes this tour a lot more attractive.
Got my eye on the Chicago after-Riot date now that Too Many Zooz dropped theirs.

LTJ's discography pretty much destroys both SP and NFG to be fair.

I was always more of a fan of Still Not Getting Any between their first 2 albums (self-titled is still my favorite). So I'll go with Still Not Getting Any >>> Sticks and Stones. Just by a little bit though.

    It's chaos. Be kind. Prestigious

I'm also team Pads Helmets Balls over Sticks & Stones.

Where do The Young And Hopeless and Does This Look Infected fall in the rankings?

Yeah, I can’t put any SP album over Self Titled-NWAF era NFG. I really wish LTJ was playing the Portland show because this tour got a lot more enticing with SP dropping. If Hot Mulligan wasn’t coming back in November I’d be inclined to possibly go since tickets are back on sale due to a lot of people asking for refunds. Regardless props to NFG for getting a suitable replacement on short notice and adding a newer band that has a lot of momentum to salvage this tour.

DTLI is a good album, but the least pop punk of them all. The young and the hopeless is top tier pop punk imo and the best of all of those.

I re-listened to Sticks and Stones, Young And Hopeless, Does This Look Infected and No Pads, No Helmets Just Balls at various points this week at the gym (great for cardio/lifting, btw). Power rankins:

    1) The Young and Hopeless - definitely has aged the best, oddly enough, particularly due to the band being a bit more dynamic than the other 3 and the fact that they don't have as much of the pop-punk whine. Funny how this was always shat on in its day and the band was thought as posuers.
    2) Does This Look Infected - The metal influenced combined with pop-punk style songwriting still makes this their best album to me. Just slays from front to back.
    3) No Pads No Helmets Just Balls - Catchier melodies in my opinion and they vary the tempo which I think suits the album better.
    4) Sticks & Stones - Funny that NFG still has the most "cred" so to speak but to my oldass 37-year-old ears, they can get a bit grating when consuming a full length album. Still great for its genre but definitely the one I have the least appetite for.

I think your rankings are pretty spot on. I will say, however, that Chuck is Sum 41's best record overall. It didn't keep much of the pop punk touches like DTLI, but I think it turned out better. Outside of the singles, I don't listen to too much on Sticks and Stones. Also, it's nice to see some retrospective GC praise! I'm probably one of the biggest fans of them on this site so obviously I'm a bit biased lol.

put this in the wrong thread, re-posting here:

I recall Cyrus being the only NFG dude wearing a mask during their live stream gigs last year (at least one of them), maybe that implied he's the one who takes it the most seriously (and therefore, maybe the only one that's gotten vaxxed)? #sheerspeculation

Chuck is awesome but seems like it was a bit of a dark period for the band, even if you remove the circumstances that influenced the naming of the album. If I recall correctly via their AP oral history (Sidenote: AP is sitting on a HUGE amount of awesome juicy content, they really need to digitize their back issues), they noticed attention moving away from them as pop-punk split into multiple directions and Deryck was questioning whether they should have gone in a more pop direction since it worked for Simple Plan. The dust has settled and it seems like that one is the fan favorite.

    Probably 35-45 minutes

    Things have changed.

That seems too long considering they added a band to the tour and some of these shows start as late as 7:30

    LOLO: 7:30-7:50
    Mulligan: 8:05-8:35
    LTJ: 9-9:45
    NFG: 10:15-11:30

    Maybe?

    Are You Watching Closely?

Id bet LTJ get closer to an hour. I believe Chad said theyd essentially be a co-headliner as far as time slots, just not for closing spot... That belongs to NFG each night

Ian and Chris Demakes did an IG live and I asked how long LTJ was playing (Chris got disconnected when Ian answered so he didn't chime in) and Ian said 40 mins but there's no way that's right

  25. sam_might_say

    The intrusive whisper fascinates me

Yeah I’d bank on LTJ getting a fairly longer than usual set. Not long enough to make it a co-headliner, but just long enough to give LTJ a fair amount of time
