It is so funny that he tries to get an actor like Ben Kingsley and ends up with a Baldwin brother. He even tries to say he is just as good as Kingsley would have been.

 

Yeah I know that’s what happens in the episode. But my reading of that moment is different than Chris’ desire for money. Maybe it’s the poverty of the family that initially turns him around, but I saw it as him denying himself something far more profound than that. He’s realizing he’d rather live as a mobster than as a family man.

I'm absolutely devastated at what happened to Adrianna :(

 

Chris trying to make Saw for Italians is the greatest plotline of the series

 

I'm honestly really shocked at how little sadness, remorse, thought went into killing Adrianna. I know the show has made it clear how little regard they have for women, but they've also shown that Tony has had plenty of moments of getting emotional about physicality (as a hypocrit obviously)

Such a bummer

 

I'm pretty sure everyone goes through the exact same grief on their first go-around, same as you. The way it's brushed off feels almost more brutal than the killing itself. But I'm pretty confident you'll feel better about how the writers handle it by the show's end.

 

It is an actual crime that we went through a discussion about characters and acting and not one person mentioned Edie Falco.

 

Edie's performance in Whitecaps is one of the greatest ever on television imo

 

Edie Falco is phenomenal

 

On pine barrens now and second time watching I think I could be persuaded this is the best episode of the show, at least so far

 

you just knew it was coming, but it doesnt make it any easier.

i think its less about how little regard they have for women and more about like, a rat is a rat, man or woman, and need to be dealt with. An argument can be made that they very clearly showed some emotion when they killed Pussy, but i dont think its necessarily a woman thing.

also, i’m not gonna spoil anything, but theres a really, really, really good tony/chris moment in S6 that deals with the adrianna situation.

 

They will abandon anyone when it becomes a survival situation. Of course, Tony would rat if it was Carmela or one of his kids, but he acts as if he can't understand the conflict Chris goes through.

 

You can tell once Tony deals with Pussy and reconciles with that, he doesn’t feel like empathizing with anyone going through something similar. For Tony, once he learns to shed his own humanity, he feels like anyone else’s emotions are akin to weakness (“I wipe my ass with your feelings”)

 

Girlfriend and I took a few weeks off from the show. Starting back up again with Whoever Did This and wooooo boy.

 

Such a good episode of television. Probably one of my favorite eps of the show.

 

It’s definitely one of our favorites so far. As we got into bed, my girlfriend goes “I’m probably going to dream about Ralph’s head.”

 

Unfortunately, baby boomer Italian-Americans are probably not great with getting vaccinated. Paulie would double mask, though.

 

I am crying laughing at that ending.

 

Holy shit. My gf and I just watched this and, even tho I knew it was coming, it was fucking shocking. What an episode

 

Def one of the best episodes. SO MUCH happens

 

Just about to finish season 2 and as of now, Paulie is the best character. Loved every episode so far.

Why didn't anyone ever tell me how good this show was?

 

In some ways the show feels as popular as it has ever been. You don't really see that for the other major shows.
