I really enjoyed this, Writing Utensils and Beat Up Shoes particularly being the standouts. More than anything I’m just happy they finally released something after all this time!

Simple Pleasures is such a sick closer. It feels very much like them during the The Fiery Works era but reenergized. Their sunny stuff will undoubtedly be what they’re known for but the darker songs are admittedly fire.

I always felt like their albums were growers for me. It took me like my 10th listen through Have You Seen before it all clicked. Now it’s one of my favorites of the genre. This album seems to get better with each listen for me so far.

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

haven't heard of this band before but I gave this a spin and it's got some serious bops

    "Kitchen Concert" goes

    beautiful and chequered, the end

This band is so low stakes vibe wise it’s impossible for it to live up to 8 years of hype, but I def love it and can it see it becoming a fav over time

They’re undeniably a good band but there’s usually a handful of songs on each album that really dig in and become favorite songs. Right now I mostly find myself bouncing around Swimmer, Waiting for Love, and Writing Utensils.

Pete's lower register on Waiting For Your Love with the harmonies strangely gives me Mogwai vibes (the songs with vocals obviously)

this band has always kinda been one where the songs take a bit of time to really sink their teeth in and differentiate themselves from one another, so while this album hasn’t absolutely wowed me it’s also exactly what I expected really, bc they’re so consistent in their lane, and I’m not let down by it. also, revisiting their discography over the past couple days had really revealed some common lyrical themes to me, namely, damn this band talks about stuff like food and fishing a lot haha. I kinda love that he’s so good at crooning and emoting that he makes some goofy lyrics work.

I think “Halloween” may be my favorite on here so far. I need to listen more. Excellent album nonetheless.

Can confirm that this is a record you vibe to. Went river tubing this weekend and listened to this record on repeat the whole time. I also got insanely sunburned lol.

Two great bands but the vibes are different for me. Kingfisher absolutely rules but has these crushing/climactic moments strewn between introspective segments, way more post-rocky. AGBPOL drops bangers but it's overall a carefree and relaxing experience--they get introspective, but it's less tortured haha.
