Ok whew. I was imagining 11 tracks of Jimmy Eat World's You Were Good or something... Love JEW of course, but lo-fi can be so hit or miss with me.

It’s definitely not like that at all…most of these songs still sound like well produced killers songs.

It all sounds fantastic, genuinely. The Everett/Rado team really knows how to produce this band.

I think I’ll like having a version of this album both with and without the interstitial audio bits. Seems like that will add to the album listening experience, whereas the leaked version is ideal for playlists and more casual listening.

Seems like there’s a regular and an “abridged” version of the album on streaming… so I’m guessing the “abridged” version is exactly this.

Ah damn they announced a terminal 5 show next week and I'm very tempted

For those who have been to any concerts that check, do I need to bring the actual card or will a picture suffice?? Do they look anything up about it even??? Not too much info on the thing

Definitely going to try and snag a ticket on Saturday AM

I've only been to one show since shows starting coming back (the Strokes at Iriving Plaza) but they were checking vaccination cards and would accept the NYS Excelsior Pass or whatever which is what I used

I don't live in New York, just want to know if a picture is chill so it doesn't get all fucked up or lost

All the hype here makes me continually glad to be a person who waits for release day. I’ve got a five hour road trip tomorrow. Just long enough to spin this once, then run through proper album discog front to back.

Thank goodness for the clarifications on the lo-fi comments, that scared me. Last lo-fi thing I heard was that terrible Say Anything album

This is pretty magnificent. Spent a lot of time with it today and really dug into the lyrics and storytelling a lot, which is already proving to be a very rewarding experience. The way the songs flit back and forth between hope and desperation is gripping and real. Really feels like a titanic songwriting achievement for Brandon, who I genuinely never would have thought had something quite like this in him. A lot of albums SOUND like Springsteen (and Brandon/The Killers have made a couple of those!) but it’s not often that an album nails Bruce’s empathy, his ability to capture a sense of place, or the detail-rich way he brings you into the lives of his characters. This album does all of those things, and it does them very well.

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

this may end up comfortably being my favourite Killers release, which is wild this far into their career

only song that isn't blowing me away is "Sleepwalker"
