Just from a pure songwriting standpoint, not sure Brandon's ever written anything better than "Desperate Things."

 

I’m so hyped for this! Loving seeing all the positive reactions so far. Also can’t remember the last time I went into an album from a fav artist this blind

 

Mine were folklore and evermore and loved those experiences. It’s definitely rare these days. I’m excited for Friday!

 

my favorite song on the album. The way the music plays a part in telling the story in the last verse is so good.

 

today was the first warm day in Australia in weeks so I blasted Imploding windows down on the drive home

Have tomorrow and the next week off, can’t wait to kick off vacation with this. The reactions in here have me pretty excited, and I’m really glad I avoided the leak.

Same! Leaving tomorrow morning to cottage country to see my parents for the first time in forever. My dad has become a huge Killers fan too so really excited to just sit out with a beer and have it on and catch up

 

Sounds like a great time. Used to go hang with my parents up at their old cabin near Traverse City, MI all the time. I miss doing that.

those last three songs lmao goddamn. I did not breathe once during the third verse of "Desperate Things"

I was not expecting a low-fi folk Killers album. I enjoyed it on first listen. However, the production will need to grow on me. Those distorted lo-fi guitar parts threw me off.

Brandon Springsteen did a great job telling his stories though!

 

kinda wish they'd saved The Boss feature for this album instead of a (really good) redo of an old song. can you imagine Springsteen coming in on "The Getting By"? christ

 

Sleepwalker reminds me of a certain MCR song off Danger Days.

 

“Terrible Thing” is one of the best, most plainly devastating things Brandon has ever written (even if it’s the most “I’m gonna bite Nebraska” song here). I get chills every time he repeats the line with the title in it.

Oh... I didn't realize it was all lo-fi. I always struggle getting into that type of sound. The hype in here has been really contagious, but now I'm a little concerned.

 

Just finished my discog run through. Really excited to go into this completely blind tomorrow.

I wouldn’t call it lo-fi personally, aside from a couple tracks.

 

that wasn't a tracklist, that was the songs they wanted on the album.

also I told people the tracklist a while ago, if folks had paid more attention to my OP!

it's not lo-fi, it's just more stripped at times. there's really only one acoustic song that isn't "produced" in the traditional sense ("A Terrible Thing") but even that one has been well mixed and mastered.

 

also, I have not heard the version with audio snippets yet because they did it last minute before mastering! very excited to have a somewhat new listening experience on Friday.
