Sunday can't come soon enough. I haven't been so excited for a long time for new music although I try to keep my expectations in bay. But still in 2014 I was so sure that my favorite band was done and 7 years later this happens.

Made an account just to see if anyone else wants to talk about how insanely good Never Take Friendship Personal was as an album.

I'm pretty sure I found Anberlin from a Tooth and Nail sampler from back in the day. I think Paperthin Hymn was the first song I heard from them.

I just went back and listened to NTFP again and wow does this album stand the test of time. The way it's mixed sounds like it could be from this era. But the songwriting is really second to none.

I love most of the stuff they went on to do after this. Cities might've been the first physical CD I ever bought. But going back through their discography now, NTFP is by far their best imo. The unique angle they brought to pop-punk at the time is really second to none.

"Audrey, Start the Revolution" in particular is a masterpiece.

Disagree that NTFP is by far their best, because Cities (and Vital and Lowborn) but 100% agreed with everything else. I do think NTFP has aged about as well as anything they've done. Especially "Audrey," which I always overlooked until I recently realized how awesome it is.

My flag is firmly planted on the Cities and Vital hill(s)

    I do not exist.

I agree. I think Vital is their best and then Cities is incredible and has the nostalgia sprinkled in. I like Lowborn a lot too.

I think Cities stands above everything else and NTFP is a solid second. Vital is a not too distant third.

So glad new music is coming. The nostalgia card was starting to wear thin for me.

The rotation fluctuates on their best but I’d say that’s a win for their discog.

getting pumped for the new music!

I don't know if that was pun intended for Aaron Sprinkle but well played

I agree NTFP isn't my favorite but it was definitely the album that made me fall in love with the band. I liked a few songs off Blueprints but Paperthin Hymn and The Feel Good Drag totally blew me away.

Getting the livestreams, new music, and tours is more than I ever could have hoped for

I wonder if having played through every album song in their catalog might reshape their live setlist...esp considering they've played the old stuff so so much. Of course they'll play the popular old songs but it'd be really cool to see the later albums get way more representation at shows. And they *can* play them, we know! :)

What you mentioned is probably my favorite potential part from all the livestreams. We absolutely know they can play all their songs now which is a feat

I sincerely don’t think this will happen, but dammit if I’m not wishfully hoping for them to release the single digitally and announce the album title/release date at the end of the stream.

It would just be so damn poetic to do that at the end of the last album livestream.

i'm also curious to know about their label situation for LP8. they've been releasing all these livestreams independently, so i'm curious if they'll say fuck it and do the new album all on their own or go back to T&N.

Don't they technically not have a true name for their tour either? I could imagine a single announcement, tour name announcement, and album tease.
