Shit, this is good. Sister is insane.

 

Love the drums towards the end of "Those Were the Days"

 

Just finished my first listen. "Woman" is stunning and I'm feeling "Sister" so much more in the context of the album. The whole thing is pretty incredible.

 

How good is Not Gonna Kill You

 

On my first listen. This is fucking great.

 

Yeah this is very good. "Sister" and "Woman" are both stunning. Really not a dud on here.

 

I didn't realize there was a deluxe edition with demos of Give It Up, Heart Shaped Face, Never Be Mine, and Sister.

 

You do you, Angel. Keep making albums better than the last, we'll all just hang out in awe of you.

I just fucking love how this album takes influence from so many areas and risks spreading itself too thin but then she starts singing and her inimitable voice just anchors the whole thing and makes it so obviously an Angel Olsen record, and her best one at that. She always tied herself to folk/country on records previous, and to some extent she does that here too, but I've never admired her sonic ambition so much.

"Sister" is the standout on here for me. I need to listen to the album a few more times to make up my mind about it as a whole

 

Seeing her in Philly tomorrow night, $15 bucks. Super stoked since i've been listening to "My Woman" almost every day.

 

I really like this! Woman is an awesome and stunning song

EDIT: I can't get enough of this album. Bought it two days after listening on Spotify non-stop

 

Saw her last night. She was amazing. These new songs absolutely explode live. She played practically the whole album (not front to back). She also played an unreleased song that's like 9 minutes long that the label made her cut from the album.

 

Been loving this album by Julia Jacklin lately. She seems to be drawing a lot of comparisons to Angel Olsen and Sharon Van Etten so I figured this would be a good place to recommend her.

 

Heart Shaped Face is my fav song on this

I remember her previous one as pretty good... I also remember it reminding me of Nico... is that accurate?

 

I love this record. One of my favorites of the year. She is/was great live too.
