Huge tours like this normally have 2 stages, so the next city can be set up while they’re in the current city

    Things have changed.

    Multiple stages, yep.

This reminded me that for the U2 360 Tour they needed 3 stages because of the ammount of time they require to set up and dismantle. Thats crazy.

The Milwaukee date is part of summerfest

  5. Officially, yes, but as far as I can tell there’s nothing else going on at the Summerfest grounds that day.

FOB just only played 50 mins 8-8:50 and got yanked off stage 10 mins early. They cut both TTTYG songs

That's so weird, really curious why they cut the TTTYG songs

    That’s odd…

They must have gotten pulled off early. Pete was like “we gotta go bye” and they walked off stage 10 mins early. Everyone was chanting encore and then stage crew started tearing down. Hella awkward and a bummer

Weezer played their full hour, no cuts or additions. Everyone’s been on time, Weezer even went on 5 mins early

Strange. Maybe there was a technical difficulty? Maybe something weird happened behind the scenes. Who knows

Weird because the 1st TTTYG song is in the beginning 1/3 of the set and the other is the closer. They sounded great all night, if anything Weezer had tech issues. Shows are back!

There must be a strict curfew and they wanna make sure Green Day doesn’t end too close to 11:00.

What's with the (lack) of people in the pit tonight or is this capacity?

  15. Damn. I’d love to be in a pit that size for any of the bands playing haha.

Wasn’t even 50% full but it was sold out online. Beautiful to have so much space and still be close

That's kinda how it looked in Dallas. You can't really see much from the areas where those open barricade parts are, which is why everyone is mostly in the center. But overall, it's not a huge pit. I wouldn't say the space that all those people are in is any bigger than like a traditional amphitheater pit size.

FOB had to cut their set short because they started 10 mins late to due tech issues. They couldn't get the set pieces to connect and delayed their start. I'd expect them to play the full set at other shows as long as their set doesn't have problems again. GTA was cut before they even came out because they knew they started late, but the Saturday thing was weird. The crowd cheered and you could see the band take a pause and think about coming back out and then decided nope they are done. Probably don't want to get in trouble on show 2 of the long tour haha

And yes was in the pit and there was so much room. Never more than 10 ppl deep from the stage. I grabbed a beer and came back for Green Day a few mins before they started and was 3 ppl back from the ramp. Last time I saw Green Day at an amphitheater is was probably twice as deep. Absolutely loved being able to leave and come back and still get a great spot.

It was pretty fascinating to watch them assemble FOB's set in Dallas. They did it so quickly and seamlessly.

Although I'm still not sure if it's supposed to be a black hole, or a haunted forest. Or both.

I was gonna inquire about since I'm no longer at the age where I need to be at the rail. If I make a quick drink/bathroom break and come back, I assume I can still be at a decent spot, particularly if I want be center/front of the cat walk. Was that your experience?

Few more thoughts on last nights show:

    Interrupters
    - Really great set with a lot of energy
    - Crowd was really into them which was neat
    - They go on at 5:30 but it is worth rushing from work to get there to see them

    Weezer
    - I feel like if you like Weezer you find what they do funny otherwise you'll be rolling your eyes
    - I like Weezer so seeing Rivers go full 80s with the hair, jacket, guitar was hilariously awesome. Loved how he shredded EVH style any chance he got
    - Surprised how well the new (both most recent and last few albums) songs went over. Almost got as big of reception as some of the old stuff. While I don't enjoy the new stuff much gotta give them props for finding a way to get new fans

    FOB
    - Super bummed their set issue caused them to cut the two older songs
    - Never been a few fan of the band, but was really impressed
    - Patrick's voice is maybe better than ever. Dude crushed it

    Green Day
    - Still the best live band out there
    - As someone else mentioned they cut down on extending a lot of the songs which made the set feel tighter but is it time to lose the Knowledge cover? Or is that such as staple fans expect it? Takes up so much time... made sense back in 2000 when they didn't have as many hits but that couldv'e been two more songs.
    - Great setlist, but is it too much to ask to sub out Jesus for Homecoming ever few tours? Such an underrated song.

Yeah I'm in that exact same boat and 100% you'd be fine. You could've walked in mid Green Day set and been 5-7 ppl back from the end of the catwalk. And honestly probably not much more from really any where on the stage. Best pit experience I've had.

I think JOS is one of Billie's favorite songs to play live, hence why it's always included. Would love to see Homecoming as I only saw it once when they did all of AI in Toronto in 2004.
