If anyone needs something to listen to, the latest from Deadlights is an absolute delight. My personal favorite:

Definitely something in the water in Australia.

I'm always down for more Misery Index even if it's covers, alt takes, and demos.

Catching up big time on this thread. This man revealed to me that he grew up in Denver when he referenced Twist & Shout records early on, which I currently can see if I step out of my apartment building and go to all the time. They are a very well known record store here with a massive vinyl collection, but also sell movies/dvds/blurays, horror toys and collectibles, CD’s, vintage band tees and some books by musicians. Truly a gem of a place I didn’t know the history of until I started going there.

Teasing atreyu and attila is just low hanging fruit. It's not even that funny.

It’s not teasing, it’s stating fact but you aren’t wrong about them being low hanging fruit.

I'm going to Austin to see Limp Bizkit next month, which means I'll be missing the Megadeth/Lamb of God/Hatebreed/Trivium show in Dallas, so I decided to drive down to Austin a day early to catch that show there. Now I found out that Jamey Jasta and Howard Jones are doing a live podcast recording the day before the Megadeth show, so now I'm thinking I gotta extend the trip yet another day.

    a literal succubitch

Back in college me and the heavy metal club members used to play a game where we'd try to make it through an Attila music video without physically recoiling or otherwise viscerally reacting in any visible way, or stopping the video.

It was simultaneously both good times and excruciating.

Went to Wrecking Ball Metal Madness today. I'll tell more later, I'm exhausted, but it was a banger.

    Wrecking Ball was sick af.

    Tribal Gaze

    Flesh Hoarder
    200 Stab Wounds
    Sanguisugabogg
    I AM
    Creeping Death
    Frozen Soul
    Devourment

I was most looking forward to 200 Stab Wounds as I've seen every other band on the bill before except for the first few. They did NOT disappoint. Everyone sounded great. I AM was probably my second favorite.

The venue was complete garbage though. NEVER go to the Haltom Theater in Ft. Worth if you can avoid it. $3 bottled water/canned soda which was room temp and the only liquid around except for the tap from the bathroom sink. The only saving grace was they allowed for re-entry so you could go somewhere else to get water, but the parking lot was completely full from 3pm on, so don't think about driving anywhere. They had one AC unit that if you were standing in front of it, you were cool, but if you moved even 2 feet from it, it was like burrowing into Satan's asshole. Literally the hottest show I've ever been to. By the time Creeping Death played, the AC went out completely. The fire department came because apparantly the AC unit was sparking and in flames on the roof. The venue acted like they were shutting down the show, and tried to get people to leave, so we left after Frozen Soul. Devourment did actually play, but only played 4 songs because the venue told them they had to leave (none of this was enforced by the fire department)

Also, there was lots of drama with a "local mosh organization" lol - Basically the pit police that wanted to fight anyone doing "karate in the pit"...

Sounds like it was a good time despite the venue hiccups. This makes me really want to see 200 Stab Wounds too...if only now, I could get an analog copy of the debut without paying absurd Discogs prices. And LMAO at a "local mosh organization". That's the best fucking thing I've read all week.
