Figured this was coming. Still sad to lose yet another star player, but at least he's going to a team I can support.

I'm saying this was as much respect as possible but how can you support this franchise?

3 playoffs and 4 winning seasons in about 30 years. And anytime you have a star player they're traded. They never invest in the team.

Loyal is loyal I get that....but the pirates, man, I don't get it.

I'm not trying to be mean here. There's being sucky and bad luck but have shown signs they're willing to spend ike the mariners, orioles, rangers, dbacks... and there's rebuild but have had a decent amount of success and would spend if they were good like the tigers and then there's cheap but smart like the as and rays

But then there's pirates. No active strategy and they literally trade every single asset they ever get. And to top it off they throw in God awful trades like meadows for archer.

I think a team like the pirates are hurting the game (unless you count they're always active on the stove because they're always unloading good players as helping lol)

The Marlins, as a team, seem to really prefer the horseshit

I get it. The franchise is a mess, has been for years, and the owner/upper management show no signs of caring or making any effort to get things back on track. That part I absolutely hate. For me though, it's more about the love I have for the city, the ballpark, and I guess sentimental reasons/loyalty. My dad's side of my family was from PA so growing up, I was raised on Steelers and Pirates (Penguins weren't around back in my dad's younger days, so I was raised a Ranger fan). I've lived in NJ my whole life, so as a kid I didn't have access to Pirates games, so I was more of a casual fan and watched the Yankees grownig up. Maybe around a decade or so ago, I went out to Pittsburgh with some friends and fell in love with the city and the ballpark. From then on, I've been hooked. Been back there another handful of times since then and get MLB.TV each year to watch games throughout the year.

I guess the big reason I don't move on to another team is that I just don't get worked up enough to let it impact me. I love the game itself first and foremost, so when the Pirates are eliminated from playoff contention, I know there's still plenty of baseball left to watch elsewhere and I'm still content. Would I love for someone other than Nutting to own the team, so there'd be a chance we can actually keep some of our players and actually build towards a future? Absolutely! But it doesn't seem like that's happening anytime soon, so I'm fine with just riding it out and enjoying baseball itself as much as I can.

Also, I don't take any disrespect from your questions. They're totally valid, so you're all good!

Call me crazy but if I were running the Yankees I would at least see what teams would be willing to give me for him. He’s a very good player when he’s healthy but there are a lot of red flags with him especially when he ages. He might not live up to any big contract he’s likely to sign. This team right not needs a lot of work on building up their roster, if they can get a couple of pieces that could help it might not be a terrible idea.

I watched Rich Hill run the bases on an errant throw in an away game against either the Braves or Nats and I knew I could demoralize him in a race
