Anyone remember that Nickelodeon/MLB crossover from a while back?

  10. Finished Darksiders 3. Between 2 and 3 it's hard to say which is my favorite. The series draws from a variety of genres, 2 most heavily from RPGs and 3 most heavily from metroidvanias. 2 has better loot and leveling, and puzzles and platforming. 3 has better combat and, while I personally didn't mind 2's length, there's something nice about how straightforward and streamlined 3 is. Fury is easily my favorite Horseman to play as thus far, partly because she seems to go through the most character development throughout her campaign.

I'm installing Darksiders Genesis on Game Pass, but I'm not as excited about it, partly because it's top-down/isometric which will take some getting used to, and also because it's a prequel and doesn't continue the story of the other three games.

  12. Tried out the controls, still plays like a Darksiders game, but the top-down just feels so weird.

Installing Prey. Kind of makes sense after enjoying the Dishonored games so much. Might try to spend a little less time on gaming, though, now that things are really opening up from quarantine. I should get a job...

Still trying to get used to thinking of/referring to Bethesda games as specifically Arkane, id, and Bethesda haha (and MachineGames? haven't played any Wolfenstein yet)

Definitely play Wolfenstein TNO and Colossus soon. Great games. I liked the latest Prey, but it had a lot of jank when it came out. I’m sure it runs smoother now. One of my side quests glitched out, and I could never complete it. Plus the framerate was a mess, and I’m never one who really cares too much about that.

"But no one plays old games!"

People don't realize that a lot more people would play older games if they were easier to access and less expensive overall. That's why Microsoft's approach to backwards compatibility is really great because they have their old library so readily available and are making sure all current and future games will be playable on all platforms moving forward.

If only Sony or Nintendo took a page out of their book because they have much older and better franchises they could be profiting off of.

  17. Netflix going into gaming kind of feels like how Amazon Prime has music, video, and audible. I don't know what's worse, having too many streaming platforms to choose from for each medium or having an all-in-one service, that feels like some sort of monopoly.

Also, like, having games I own divided between Steam, Origin, Battle.net, GamePass, etc., is a minor inconvenience. Microsoft eating up every development company just feels wrong.

64gb storage for the base model is laughable, but at least it's expandable. Looks pretty tight, tbh.
