    I do not exist.

Yes I’ll definitely be wearing mine indoors. It’s more out of care and respect for others in terms of transmission than any protection.

They ditched them here a week ago (along with other measures) and within one week we went from 300 to 2500 new cases a day.

I’m still wearing my FFP2 masks whenever I have to go somewhere though.

At least we don’t have a government that actively enables said racists that absolutely definitely don’t exist...

    Oh...

Much to hate about this, obviously, but "PM leads support" is the bit that particularly gets to me. The fucking nerve of it.

Over the 30,000 cases a day, and the entire world telling our government that our current plans are a threat, and yet it looks like opening up is still going ahead.

Add to that the fact my work had 3 positives inside two weeks and yet my work still refuse to let us work from home lol.

Genuinely feel very tired. This is never ending.

How is Brexit going? Or has the pandemic basically pushed back any negative or positive consequences?

    Pretty badly.

There’s been issues for people as diverse as touring musicians who play in the EU to fishermen...

I feel it will incrementally become more and more apparent how damaging it is. I think a lot of people haven’t realised due to the pandemic.

Furthermore, I still think the Northern Ireland aspects haven’t been sorted and I fear this government will continue to mess that up.

Well yeah. Nobody in their right mind should want to go back to pre-EU Europe yet here we are.

SPD is, uh, Labour. CDU is conservative. The SPD hasn’t been ahead of them (they have been in plenty of governments together out of necessity however, including the current one) in what by now must be decades. The reason for that is that the SPD candidate (currently minister of finance) is much more popular than the CDU candidate even though his party isn’t.

Until a few days ago, everyone was certain that a new government would be CDU and the Green Party with a CDU prime minister. Now it’s starting to look like SPD, Green Party and FDP might be able to form a government without the CDU. If the FDP plays ball that is.The FDP are sort of like the UK’s LibDem, at least in theory. Or maybe there will be an SPD, Green Party and CDU government but with an SPD prime minister instead of CDU. That is if these polls hold up.

    I could go on lol

Btw, the AFD are right wing populists and the Linke are, uh, “far left” and include remnants of the East German SED. Both of them, but especially the AFD, are very unlikely to join a federal government (the Linke is in some state governments, but their state parties are a lot less unwieldy than their federal one).

So what’s going on with these German elections? Feels like I’m seeing conflicting reports on Twitter about seat numbers

I believe my hometown has one of the highest covid rates in the UK. Again. Not surprising at all considering 99% of people refuse to wear masks in shops or anything.

    It's all hell.

I was at a Los Camp! gig in London on Tuesday and the enforcement of masks / vaccine passes was probably the most efficient I've seen, but I still felt pretty vulnerable considering a couple of people near me took their masks off and were shouting along when the band started and there wasn't much air circulation in the venue. I probably won't be going back into the city until Omicron dies down and am worried now I've fucked Christmas if I've picked it up.

I hope everyone's staying safe out there.

    Regular

Scottish government advising people to work from home. But in February initiating hybrid models as the recommendation by sounds of it.

My work seems to have either die hard work from homers or work in the office all the time. So it’s going to be an interesting time seeing how that all plays out.

Obviously what was said to Nus Ghani is awful, but then i remember she is a Conservative MP who consistently voted against things like right to remain, and for lowering corporation tax, and that she was okay with her party wanting to drown people in the channel, and i don’t feel *quite* so bad.
