It's me, guy watching Leafs-Sabres even though there's real hockey on.

Pittsburgh's speed is certainly giving Nashville fits tonight. This game has been polar opposite of the last game between the two. Kessel has bee a man on a mission since Malkin went down. If they hold on to the lead and the Rangers lose, Pens move up to second in the Metro with a one point lead. Gonna be a lot of back and forth until one of them loses two in a row.

 

They're finally done with the new arena here in Vegas. We deserve a team just for how gorgeous that thing is.

 

They're just waiting til the end of this season to announce it, right?

 

I don't know to be honest. I haven't heard much about it recently. I'm assuming an announcement would come around draft time or in the middle of the summer.

 

I'm just anxious to see the logos/uniforms, since it seems like they've already chosen the Black Knights as the name.

 

The Expansion draft is supposedly set for next summer. I imagine we'll get an announcement sometime this year.

 

I'm gonna guess there will be gold in the color scheme since it's Vegas.

 

Black and gold? Sounds good. Works for the Saints.

 

Rangers will gladly give up Girardi in the expansion draft. He's a "warrior". Good for team building, etc.

 

I've got a nagging suspicion that the Blue Jackets might leave David Clarkson unprotected.

 

Hopefully there's someone decent on the team so I can get a jersey.

Anyone catch the Flyers game last night? Looking like (and hopefully) they will keep on to at least that last Wild Card spot. Bruins are falling and I don't think the Red Wings have it in them to pass them, but can never count them out.

 

if they do institute the "you must leave at least 25% of your previous season's payroll unprotected," that is such bullshit

that completely shits all over teams with low payrolls

Rangers win 19 of 20 vs Carolina and as soon as they get E Staal, they're gonna lose. This fucking team.

 

Not to fuel any rumors or anything but a friend of mine is a writer for NHL.com & he's flying out in a few days for an assignment over there. I'm assuming it will just be an article on the arena being complete though.

 

Speaking of expansion, for those who haven't heard, the league will make an official announcement on that front around draft day. So we'll know in 3 months.

Yessir. They've yet to (formally) say a word about relocation of any kind though and I doubt they'd just drop that out of nowhere.

5 bucks says only Vegas is getting a team, QC gets boned (good 'cause fuck them), and Arizona moves to Seattle in like 3 years.
