If I remember right, Nate said something to the effect that he wrote a bunch of love songs and didn't want to do them with Fun

 

Nate and Jack don’t even follow each other on Twitter. I know Nate is relatively new to Twitter but still, that really sucks if the truly don’t talk at all anymore.

 

Jack pretty much avoids mentioning fun in interviews if he can. I know in the past he’s said that he didn’t want to be the “We Are Young” guy. I’m sure there’s a multitude of reasons they fell apart, but it doesn’t seem like either is eager to revisit that time.

 

fun. were one of the best bands of the 2010's and they only put out one album that decade.

 

First time I ever heard the song Some Nights was driving to Vegas from LA for the Super Bowl (Pats vs Giants) and it was so cool blasting it across the desert.

This thread made me go through his Twitter and booooooy does Nate seem to dislike the whole industry

Yeah, he seems very disillusioned by the industry. Totally understandable.

 

It's a bummer to see, but I totally understand it.

I just wish (obviously for personal reasons haha) that he was able to create music, any music really, as far outside of the music scene as he can. It really seems he lost the overall passion for making music in any capacity

 

Die Young and Just Give Me A Reason probably gave him enough money to never work again not even mentioning we are young

 

Being married to a Ronson can’t hurt either.

 

He actually admitted as much himself...sort of. I don't know, the whole thread actually seems sincere despite the setup he gave here.

Andrew Dost lives in my hometown, so I interviewed him a month or so ago. The piece is out today and includes a bit of discussion about fun. (though Andrew wasn't super eager to discuss all the details of why the band isn't really a thing anymore).

Very excited to hear that Nate’s musical is still in the world and that Andrew is involved (assuming it’s the Seuss one that was announced a while back)
