I have no idea if I like Dawn on the Canal after one listen. Very strange song.

This is the one I'm talking about. The chromatic fall in be chorus to the droney verses idk it works for sure but it's pretty weird haha

Feels like the song is meant to make you feel uncomfortable but "from what I understand" is a pretty song so it's almost like tension and release

Bout to listen to this now. Just realized there are only 4-5 I haven't heard off of this :( Might be a new feel to listening all at once though! Beautiful Things was my favorite of his solo so far.

The chorus of You'll Be Fine is probably the highest point of the record, which is a little disappointing, but that chorus is one of the best I've heard all year so he set the bar incredibly high from the get-go.

I think that cellar is the highest point for me. Really enjoyed the dark moments on that song

Cellar comes very close for me, as does Pixie Queen.

"A Reason to Stay," "I'm Sorry For Everything I've Ever Done," "From What I Understand" and "Will It Be" are high points. I love about half of the album so far. As a whole, though...not entirely sure how this stands up to the rest of his discography. I certainly enjoy the album, and its themes resonate with me immensely, but I'm just not sure how it all comes together. Gonna need to keep listening to figure that out.

Yeah I already have to go back on what I said and assert that the title track is probably the best song. Such a great way to close out the album.

Will It Be and Cellar, for how simple and straightforward they are, are phenomenal songs and are crushing me.

I haven't listened, but that'd be a great guess. Will Yip is working on the new Eisley right now, and Anthony just provided guest vocals for a song of that upcoming album

After listening twice I think that may be who it is, and would make a lot of sense based on what you just said.

I wish I was as into Anthony's other projects as I am Circa Survive. This is fine so far

Definitely get what @Aaron Mook was saying about this potentially making a good winter/holiday record, A Reason To Stay sounds like it could be a Christmas carol with different lyrics, haha.

I like this but "You'll Be Fine" is an easy standout for me. I think "Cellar" was probably my least favourite.

Aw man, I love Cellar. I remember the video of Anthony playing it in the studio gave me chills.

I don't know, after 3 playthroughs I enjoy this quite a bit. It's not blowing me out of the water, but it has some really great standout tracks and is overall a pretty solid record. I'm definitely a stan for Anthony (he has been my avatar since Along The Shadow came out, I think), so some of my enjoyment may just be attributed to bias towards him and his voice, but I also think he plays around with traditional pop melodies and songwriting in a way thats very interesting and travels into unique terrain. I have no clue how this will stack up at the end of the year, but I'm satisfied so far.

It's a nice album, i think along the shadow will still be my favorite Anthony green release this year
