Excited to give this a listen today.

 

just started, this is so good

 

dunno if its just how they operate, but triple crown really dropped the ball hyping this up/advertising this. butt yeah.. this is unbelievable

 

Also did they purposely release this on a Wednesday cuz the June meets July theme? Seems weird it’s a Wednesday release

 

But yea this is fantastic

 

Figure it’s probably also because it’s the weekend of the fourth, I don’t think much is coming out this Friday. But I’m sure the themes weighed into it pretty heavy too hahah

 

Maybe it’s just because of the banjo and I heard them sing “Land of Lincoln” but I was getting Sufjan Illinoise vibes for a second.

 

That's my guess, they wanted to tie it in with the "where June meets July" theme.

 

The first time I listened to this album that's exactly what I heard too.

It’s because of the June meets July thing. It’s been planned this way for years

 

can only assume that means 2021 was always the plan to sync with the 17 year cicadas or whatever?

 

This is special. I laughed when I saw the last track was 17 minutes hahah can’t wait to keep digging into this.

The 5 year roll out doesn’t seem so bad when I only knew about if for a week… this is such a treat!

also did they re-record the boy called june tracks as well?

 

There are so many incredible moments on this album. In the Space Between Pages is gorgeous.

in media res sounds like same recording but it is defiantly reworked on the album VS the single version from years back. They keep the background vocals present for almost the entire song now, when before they were in and out alot more

 

This is just great. It reminds me of the mid 2000s when emo/pop punk bands were taking chances on sprawling, ambitious, orchestral albums (mostly thinking of Razia's Shadow but there were definitely some others too).
