We were truly spoilt yesterday. Across both games, football served up what we love about the game so much. That said, it'll be sods law tonight. I can't see England not boring us to tears with a conservative approach from Southgate and as for Sweden v Ukraine, I'm sure every neutral is anticipating that one!

    I do not exist.

I think Spain vs Croatia and France vs Switzerland were the two best international matches I have ever seen. The fact that they happened one after the other was brilliant. An exhilarating evening!

I was wondering, does anybody think we would of got similar matches if there was no fans inside the stadiums? I know we can only think about this hypothetically but still. Personally speaking, I think international football in a training ground environment would never be as entertaining as what was served up last night.

I've never seen him play but I've read somewhere that he's regarded as the best prospect to come out of Anderlecht since Lukaku. At 21 he should be less "raw" than Rom was, you'd like to think. That's a big coup for Arsenal if true.

I was trying to describe myself to someone

No no no. With several big teams already gone and a very favourable side of the draw, we'll turn up, be very aggressive for 20 minutes, then we'll devolve into painfully slow attacks and sideways passing until the Germans eventually get bored and smash three in after the 70th minute.

Also, after two crackers yesterday, it's just guaranteed that the eye catching clash between England and Germany at Wembley will be the absolute shits.

I hope Ipswich are going to sign a bunch of players, because I'm not sure we have much of a 1st team left after Cook told them all to fuck off.

    Excited and nervous.

This is a big call from Southgate. 3-5-2 with no Grealish, Sancho or Mount…

Sancho was never going to start, probably won't play much either.

I'm fine with 3-5-2 if it helps stop Germany in wide positions. I would like to see Stone, Maguire, Mings as the back 3 though. James and Saka as the WBs, and start Bellingham with Henderson/Rice and Phillips.

Bit surprised by this. Seems to have come from no where. Big job on his hands there.

I think that's an awful appointment tbh. Everybody knows how big the job at Palace is going to be this summer (and beyond). I'd even look for good odds on them being relegated now.

Totally agree. He's shown nothing in his previous jobs to show that he's the right man for the job.

Spain named Pedri to the Olympics squad. Let the kid rest, ffs. He’ll still be eligible for 2024!

Pretty sure Barca are making an official complaint to get him withdrawn.

This is an astoundingly good deal. Low price for a promising young full back who can provide cover and competition for Tierney to ease the burden.
