The whole French defence looks confused in this formation. Can’t understand the thinking behind it.

Lenglet is always good for one truly bad moment in a game and it always becomes a goal. He's the Morata of centerbacks, but like, reverse.

This whole system for France seems wrong. There’s a lot of space in the midfield for Switzerland, Pavard isn’t helping defensively. The front three from France are just blatantly ignoring everything that isn’t in the final third. They have enough quality to turn it around but this is an odd as fuck set up.

    hmmm

I wonder if he's thinking that he wants an extra defender vs Seferovic/Embolo, so Kante can concentrate on Shaqiri. But Embolo's playing deeper, between the lines and Griezmann has to drop in with Pogba to make up numbers in midfield, which slightly isolates Mbappe and Benzema, at least when they win the ball initially. They don't look quite coordinated in this formation and Switzerland are profiting in midfield, often with a 4v3. It's exacerbated when Rodriguez steps forward for Switzerland.

I’d assume it’s to cover the lack of a left back, but Rabiot and Pavard are playing so high it’s almost like Kimpembe and Varane are playing full back. They’re getting isolated out there that’s for sure.

seems he’s realised and switched formation now. Kimpembe to left back and Rabiot into midfield which is the right call.

See now I think they're looking even more open to counter attack. Kante's overrun and Lenglet looks potentially easy to isolate.

Yeah it’s possible but I have like 99% faith he resigns right now so here’s hoping.

Both games today have been great. I was very happy for Morata, I think he needed that goal.

France are all over the gaff at the back, hoping Switzerland take advantage of that more in the second half.

Yeah it didn’t really help. I think they need to get Griezmann off. Rabiot too. A stronger midfielder and a winger instead.

Arsenal would be well within their rights to ask for more for Xhaka from Roma on the basis of that 1st half alone. He's been very solid.

Griezmann does not deserve to be on the losing side. He's the only one for France putting in anything like what's required performance wise.

Lenglet off for Coman. France going 4-4-2? Griezmann on the right

Definite penalty. How did the ref not see that in real time.

Why is Rodriguez after the season he's had for Torino Switzerland's 1st choice penalty taker? It should always be a player in form.

    It's all hell.

Rodriguez also missed a penalty against the U.S. in a friendly shortly before the Euros... can't understand why he takes it.
