I think a bunch of old threads just evaporated. Guess I'm done saving old recs. :sadangel"

Jason should allow registration to AP now.

Let the bots have one final night out on the town.

  4. I just made my final post on AbsolutePunk.net and the tears are finally boiling up.

EDIT: By the way, this was on the thread for Scott Weber's 99% review for Gatsbys American Dream and the Volcano.

    Hah amen.

I was mostly just copying as many OPs that Craig (El_Jeffe) and Vinh (IWasaCamera) had made as I could because their threads were my bible. I went back to them all the time to find new shit to listen to.

  7. Interesting, I'm not familiar with those users at all. Also, the Bible's my bible, so there's that. ;-p

They weren't very active lately. Craig would pop in very sporadically. But they were into older stuff and world music and jazz and roots and reggae and all these areas I have so little knowledge of.

I can find good post-punk recs just about anywhere. That shit was rarer.

Vinh was on like a once a year, maybe year and a half schedule. REALLY hope he isn't lost to us forever, but prob is. :pantherworried: I think there's a better chance of Craig showing up.

I have my fingers crossed. Dude was the most positive lover of music I ever encountered on the site, even back in much rougher years.

  11. Interesting! I can see why you'd be interested, those are definitely genres I don't know much about those genres either. To this day, I've still never had anyone show me something that I'd consider "good reggae," unless RX Bandits' warped version of ska counts, haha.

Missed my chance. My last post was going to be "white people are crazy. Consequently, John Nolan won the feud with Jesse Lacey, who is a Morrissey impersonator, more or less"

Oh man, does Craig need to return. Haha

I could recommend Desmond Dekkar, Bob Marley, Jimmy Cliff and Beres Hammond. And I know jack shit about the genre. Haha

Ever listen to the Slackers? I have one of their many albums, the one with "Married Girl." Great non-punk ska album.

I think I'm growing into someone you can trust

Man, am I super excited about Chorus. I've been reading the home page religiously for probably 8 years now, but I never really waded into the forums. I remember when AP.net posted my fairly crappy review of Go Radio's first EP and I got that first buzz from seeing something I wrote get published. Been writing ever since and now I get paid to do it.

With the fresh start to everything, I'm excited to try to be more active on the forums now!

My first post I could find on AP was from 2007 and it was "The Horrors." Riveting. I still listen to them tho and I said a lot of stupid things on the site so it could be way worse. There was also a post from me in 2007 disparaging political incorrectness. Possibly the beginning of bb me trying to transform into a decent person?

Also my first post was "The Horrors" and my last post was in the horror thread. I know the band and the movie genre are not the same but whatever, gonna pretend like I went full circle.

I am sooooooo glad the threads I made in AP.net are gone and no one will ever be able to bump them! Life is good.

It was a little depressing not being able to pull up AP.net. I do love the change so far though. First post! Here's to another 12 years of skimming over the forums.

Master of not knowing what the hell I'm doing.

First post on Chorus- guess I just about missed the boat on writing a goodbye post on AP, haha- got to page 16 before I got blocked from seeing any more. Guess this is my start on the new website. I didn't write too much on the old site, just a review and a few comments on posts and in the forums, but if there's any time to make a proper start, I guess this is it. Hey everyone, looking forward to seeing what this has to offer!

Going to pour myself a Pineapple Sculpin and turn on Is A Real Boy, the album that first led me to this site back in '05 or so.
