  1. The hoagie/hero/sub/wedge thing was such an incredible thing to me when I first moved to college. I was also there for the Phillies/Yankees World Series which made things so interesting around campus.

The biggest typical New Yorker thing I do now is I say something is in “south jersey” and someone tells me “that’s not in South Jersey”… meanwhile to me anything south of the Matawan/Princeton latitude is South Jersey

I moved here 3 years ago at 28 and my girlfriend is from Toms River. Everyone there swears they're Central & not South Jersey, but from my perspective, it REALLY feels like South Jersey. I went to a yard sale in Howell once & the person was selling a bunch of Confederate Flag t-shirts

I moved from Asbury Park last year to Manchester which is West of Toms River, and it's 100000% South Jersey.

At least it's for their retirement and not because they are going out of business.

Y'all wanna buy a record shop?

I went to a bunch of instore performances there - saw Aaron West, Motion City, Brian Fallon, some others. You get to meet the artists and they sign the albums or whatever. I would also go just to browse and shop too of course. Definitely will miss the place.

what was the TV show that used to air on Fox I think (this would be North Jersey/NYC area) at like, 1:30 or 2AM Saturday nights that had a ton of scene bands on?

Hmm.... I actually don't remember that. I recall a show on hbo in the 90s that showed live shows but don't remember a late night concert show on fox in the 00s
