    It's chaos. Be kind. Prestigious

I think Touche Amore and Code Orange both HATE Warped Tour.

I wouldn't count out one or two older bands, but not for full tour. NOFX, Bad Religion, Face To Face, and The Bouncing Souls will all have new albums to support. They're the most likely if anything.

I found where Touché Amoré said they'd never do it and took them off in favor of A Lot Like Birds. Can you link me to where Code Orange said they'd never do Warped?

I interviewed Jami back in 2014 before I Am King came out and asked him afterwards. He said he hated the tour for a lot of the same reasons that Jeremy of Touche does (didn't mention Jeremy, but his reasons were similar).

Well I guess they're out than. I'll replace them with Animals As Leaders.

We go through this every year. Yet the last time Bad Religion has played was 2009.

10 somewhat realistic bands that could play next year:

    Against Me!
    The All-American Rejects
    Coheed and Cambria
    Saosin
    Say Anything
    Streetlight Manifesto
    Sublime "with Rome" (ewwwww gross)
    Taking Back Sunday
    Underoath
    The Used

I don't think SwR will do it. Although if you're looking for a pretty big ska-rock band, I think Dirty Heads would fit in perfectly. They're in that stage where they're too big to be an opener but not big enough to headline amphitheaters. They've already toured with SwR, 311 and Slightly Stoopid, not to mention they put out a new album this year. Could be a great way to build an even bigger crowd!

I find it weird that Code Orange hates Warped, yet they did Mayhem in 2015. I know its a different kind of tour but it pulls in a mildly similar crowd to who they'd play to at Warped.

Before this year, Atreyu's last time was 2005 and Bullet For My Valentine's was 2006. Besides, 2009 wasn't even the last time Punk had a strong presence on the lineup. 2010 had The Bouncing Souls, Alkaline Trio, Face To Face, The Casualties, Left Alone, Pennywise. That was a great one. 2011 had Against Me, Unwritten Law, Pour Habit, Street Dogs, Big D And The Kids Table

I know this conversation happens every year haha, but I still don't think the chance of a band like that playing is completely gone. They'll likely never do a full run or make up the bulk of a stage ever again, though.

Ever since the Warped documentary came out, I’ve been following FCC and they’ve become one of my favorite kind of under the radar bands. IMO, they should be way bigger than they are, especially with this kind of resurgence of pop punk. They write some incredibly fun and catchy stuff.

I just don't see Coheed, 30mins isnt long enough

Coheed played in 07 and it just seemed weird. They closed with In Keeping Secrets so the set was 5 songs max. Avenged Sevenfold in 05 was just as awkward. Way too long of songs for those bands to fit at Warped.

nah. they want to be the next Type O and i think ppl at mayhem would be able to appreciate that more

Agreed. Plus Cogeed is doing very we for themselves...Warped doesn't need to be a platform. Though no objections, I've seen them thirteen times, about to be fourteen.

Are we assuming that all the heavy bands won't be in the Monster stages again?

  19. marsvoltamcr

I'm not sure. At first I was thinking they'd stay with this year's format, but when I started making my prediction it became pretty tough to come up with a full main stage lineup without incorporating some heavier bands. I don't think Memphis May Fire and The Amity Affliction are a huge stretch for main anyway after Issues was main this year.

  20. kidinthebushes

Issues is a lot poppier than those bands.

The way I see it is if the band has a more pop leaning sound (Issues this year) or has a huge mass following too big for the Monster stages (Falling In Reverse this year) they have the greater possibility of being on Journeys main stages. There's obviously going to be some crossover where it could go either or, much like how many were confused when Motionless In White was on the Monster North stage. I think for example Beartooth could easily be the Issues of this year, and Asking Alexandria could easily be the FIR of this year.

    but does it djent?

To piggyback off of this, a band like Miss May I that have easily done main in the past could be the MiW of this year.

I saw blink in Noblesville last night. I'm curious about the setup for Warped there. Are the two Jour keys stages inside the amphitheater? Are the other stages on the grass field outside the venue?

    but does it djent?

I didn't go to the Indy date this year but I've been there in years past and asked a friend who went this year about the stage setup. The split stages are in the amphitheater (this year the Poseidon/Cyclops stages), the monster stages are in a little grassy area that is almost right inside the gates, normally fenced off when it's not in use, and the main/full sail stages are in a little parking lot type area past a building, and the old beatport stage is on a stage setup inside the venue, it's wooden. I attached a snapshot of the venue and marked where the stages are by their letters. Hope it helps.

I can see August Burns Red or The Devil Wears Prada also taking that spot. And Beartooth to be the Crown the Empire of next year as the band whose never played main but easily could with their pull.
