Jesus Christ apple is so annoying with their MacOS updates:

    File size: 12.4 GB.
    *Clicks upgrade*
"Sorry, you need 16.9 GB to proceed"
*Clears 4 more GB, downloads the installer*
    *Clicks "install"*
"Sorry, you need an additional 29 GB to install"

Just tell me how much space I need in the first place, my God. Guess I'm never getting Big Sur if it needs 30 GB. Now, how do I delete the damn installer?

  6. I know it's jokes and stuff but one of the nice things about Apple is that they don't charge you for any software support haha

I never really run into issues with my Mac

I just did a huge huge project on the M1 and it blazed through it. This thing is incredible.

The only issues I’ve ever had were hardware related and they’ve fixed them every time for free, or close to it, whether I had apple care or not. I appreciate them.

plus, my wife is on her third computer while My 2013 mbp still chugs along

My 2013 MBP is hanging on by a thread. Poor thing has had the display and logic board replaced. I've been dealing with a battery issue for over two years. I refuse to pay $200 for a battery replacement, but the battery health is so low that if I disconnect the charger, it will randomly shut off at any percentage, even when it's full. It doesn't shut down, but the only way I can get it to turn back on is reconnecting the MagSafe. I skipped the entire last generation of laptops due to that crappy butterfly keyboard, so hoping I can get my hands on the redesigned 16-inch this Fall.

  12. Maybe the wrong thread but do any fellow Logic Users/Internet pirates know if all my cracked plugins will be safe with a Big Sur upgrade? I haven't even thought about making the jump but Universal Audio finally updated their drivers so as long as I won't lose FabFilter and RC-20 I'm golden.

I personally am still holding off so I don't ruin any Izotope or Fabfilter plug-ins since I use them for work. Is there any specific reason you'd need to update to Big Sur?

Didn’t break fabfilter for me, but I don’t have the other. I don’t think it broke anything I use.

  15. Definitely not a need, just a little irked that I can't update to a software that has already had its annual successor announced and being rolled out to developers.

Thinking I’m gonna have to replace my first gen SE soon. Anyone have thoughts on 12 mini or know if it’s worth waiting for 13?

  17. 12 mini rules but if you can hold out till the fall I’d do that in case they improve the mini’s battery

Really excited to never have to do that again especially if it means I’ll also never have to watch my phone get sucked into that black hole of a crevice between the seat and the console
