Fun idea, but probably never listening to this again.

 

They all used to be in ska bands before PUP. I want a combo PUP/Charly Bliss ska band:

Eva Hendricks (Charly Bliss): I did want to ask you, because you said that PUP has [always had] a similar sound, but we’re both in bands with people we’ve been friends with since childhood. So I wanted to ask you: did PUP always sound like PUP, or did you have any initial iterations where it was something really embarrassing or different?

Stefan Babcock (PUP): Well, it’s definitely changed for sure, but I think it’s just been a gradual thing. I don’t know if you knew this, but the four of us all played in different ska bands when we were in high school.

Eva: [Laughs] No way! I love ska.

Stefan: I love it too, man! The first tour I ever did was with Mustard Plug. But, yeah, we all played ska, but not together. When we formed, we were called Topanga [and] were pretty much playing PUP stuff, but just way chiller.

I was really into Get Warmer back in the day but haven't listened to that in a decade

 

That's the one that got me into them. I'd say their most accessible "rock" record

 

maybe my favorite reworking of any album ever ? is that too much to say?

 

i guess ill listen tomorrow. haven't loved his previous albums but whatever, seems fun

 

this thing is pretty wild haha. Overall a very enjoyable listen

 

Yeah I like this a lot, but not more than the original versions of the songs.

 

Loving this. Gives me BTMI - ADULTS vibes.

Also is there anything better than Laura Stevenson ska back vocals?

 

One of my friends who speaks Korean tried to translate this lol. Tbh, “I have no money/I will give it all to be healthy” is a classic Jeff lyric.
