I plan on going to that date as well though it will not be easy because I will be coming back that same morning from Furnace Fest

Guess what day of the week the NYC and LA shows fall on. That can’t be a coincidence.

Tokyo Police Club had a pretty rowdy crowd when I saw them 12 years ago. I’d imagine we’ll all be chillin for this one though.

can emo nite fuck off with that tour? sick of that parasitic shit. go support artists at their shows instead of paying to see a dj play their music on an ipad.

How much is Emo Nite that it's any different than when a club does a One Direction vs Jonas Brothers night or something similar? Clubs are usually $5-$20 cover anyways so what's the difference aside from the music being one genre all night?

I've never been and have no desire but I live in NYC so you can go see acts you like 4-7 nights a week if you feel so inclined (which I literally have done at some points during my 20's). That being said, there's a big nostalgia factor that can always be capitalized on so if you were in high school/college during the mid-late 00's and want to drink with your friends and have the background music catered to your specific taste, I assume this fits the bill.

On a related note, do DJ's still drop in Brand New at these or is that a no-go these days?

I get totally different things out of going to a real show/concert and going to emo night. They are different experiences.

From what I recall, the Emo Night Brooklyn guys have dropped Brand New but sometimes a guest DJ will play it. It’s always a weird reaction….a few small groups screaming and jumping while others make a face and use the song as an opportunity to go to the bar or bathroom.

semi-hate to keep clogging up this thread with my own bullshit, but i'ma keep doing it!

anybody here live in or familiar with small music venues in:

    - Phoenix/Tucson (also wondering if cities like Tempe or Mesa are worth trying to play in if a person can't wrangle a Phoenix/Tucson show)

    - the area between northern California and Portland (trying to make something happen in Ashland or Medford...)

    - Columbus, OH or anywhere in West Virginia

    - Pittsburgh but this one's a little less urgent.

Thanks so much in advance everybody!

The next emo night here is the same night as the Bayside show and I chose emo night without even a thought. I just find them so fun! I’ve never been remotely a dance club person but I think it sort of scratches that same itch.

I can’t fathom going to emo night over the stacked Bayside headliner, but to each their own. Surprised emo night isn’t an after show for that show. It would probably draw a lot better.

Weirdly this is the second time emo night was the same night as a bayside show here (bayside/say anything) and then it was an after show, but I think it was unrelated to the emo nite tour.

Oh snap looks like there’s a separate emo night September 5 at a different venue, looks like I can go to bayside after all!

because as fun as I find it, it’s something I can’t do more than once every few months.

Yeah, I’d possibly go if it were an after show that was also downtown. Never been, but seems like it might be fun depending on the crowd. I get that it’s a tour, but putting it on the same night/time as a big show like that is super weird to me.

I’ve been to the LA one a few times. They get some cool guests sometimes. Underoath played a secret set the week their last album dropped. But also if you’ve been to one you’ve been to them all. The DJs play the same songs and you’d be surprised how many times you’ll hear Last Resort by Papa Roach throughout the night.

Seems like Twenty One pilots have a tour teaser up at the Paradise Rock Club in Boston. Could it be a small venue tour? Would be insane to get tickets to if it isn't arenas.

wonder if they’re gonna do what PATD did a few years ago where they played a handful of surprise club shows and didn’t announce until day of.
