I dont even know how you'd pronounce it. Part of me thinks its another dumbass meme thing like cameron grimes and gamestop, and you'd pronounce the name like "Dow Drop". Or its even dumber and its "Dew Drop", which manages to position her both as a trust fund kid AND the daughter of someone who birthed her high off their ass on peyote. Or maybe they were trying to come up with the shittiest Street Fighter name they could imagine?

None of it makes any sense for someone who's wrestled in both Mae Young and NXT UK under Piper Niven

i'm guessing regal is actually being removed from tv for the most part, but will still be the off-screen GM. Joe will just act as the talker for the show. Good role for him if he can't wrestle

Just curious, what the hell does an off screen GM do? Is it an actual functioning role?

 

Isn’t regal really into finding new wrestling talent? I just assumed he'd be doing that, maybe in nxt uk it would be easier because he’d be closer to a lot of undiscovered indie talent there.

 

i don't think its an actual thing. i was thinking more along the lines of commentary would say 'GM William Regal', but Joe would be the one who's around. Like Orca said, I believe Regal does scouting

 

In kayfabe, yes. Real-life, no. But, we've seen what they've done with Adam Pearce and Roman Reigns...they can turn the real-life producer role into on-screen "GM" as well. Or in Regal's case, his actual role is talent scouting, so it makes sense on-screen that people revere him since he found them, but its not really said in kayfabe.

Feels like the Attitude Era certainly had levels of GM...hell, wasnt Regal one of them back then? Vince was on-screen as the owner and booker, but he had Regal as his "commissioner" which was basically the assistant GM role.

 

Regal was gm in the mid 2000s, that’s when he introduced tajiri in a very racist way
