I feel pretty much the same about this Polo G record as I did the last one. Highly enjoyable, nothing groundbreaking, but a notch above other stuff in this lane. I love that it bops hard enough for me to ignore that the melodies in every song are basically the same haha

 

This Migos album is doing nothing for me.

 

It’s interesting to me that they decided to launch their new album/return on the same day as the new Polo G. Pretty sure the singles from Culture 3 did not perform particularly well while Polo is coming off a number 1. Migos has the benefit of the bigger features (Drake, Bieber, Cardi, Juice) but it doesn’t really seem like people care anymore? Not that any of it actually matters, but I’m very curious to see how these two play out against each other on the charts next week.

Was thinking the same thing. No reason not to hold out until next week. Even the Maroon 5 album is listed before Migos on iTunes right now in terms of advertising the new albums of the week

New Migos just reminds me of this.

 

Finally got to listen to the McKinley Dixon album. Incredible. Everyone in here should listen to it. Might be my favorite of the year so far.

 

Yeah this one is waaay under appreciated.

 

I think the production on the new Migo's albums might be some of my favorites out of this year and that is as someone who really loves the Fraud projects and his work in general. In particular, Jane and Vaccine, those two beats just grab me from the get. Vaccine's Final Fantasy type sample and the almost spaghetti western feel of Jane are just fantastic to me. I love a good video game sample.

 

there are a few bangers on the Migos album that I like

Malibu and Roadrunner being my favorites

 

oh and I like Vaccine a lot too

 

Just discovering this today — good mix of hip hop/instrumental/r&b. Some rapping on a few tracks but really not a lot. Got Duckwrth and Saba on a track. Overall really mellow stuff, which I love. Came out last month

 

Polo G album is really good. Someone else said it too but I’m kinda surprised I’m digging it this much

I still think Die a Legend is his best so far, but the new record comes close

I skimmed through the Polo G album. Sounded all pretty similar, didn't really do anything for me. TBF none of his stuff has, but the way some people have talked about it, I thought it was gonna be different. Alas, he is not for me.

Will give the Migos album a listen, though. Have liked their stuff in the past.
