I specifically wanted to play the ‘16 before the new one, but apparently it’s not even treated as cannon lol. Rift Apart takes place in the same world as the other 20 games. Which is great for fans! I might just watch a YouTube vid on the story. I only ever played the first one, and the remake.

Im disappointed in myself that after a 13 (roughly) year absence from WOW, i just subscribed again. I can already tell it's going to consume me again and I don't know why I did it (I mean I do, bored at work, stressed and needing an outlet). It had been coming for a while as I'd been sinking all my time into counter strike (after also taking a break), and i was way more into WOW than I ever was CS. I got a gaming PC in Oct after casually playing PS4 and I almost wish I didn't.

I actually am really enjoying the retail version, but there's a lot to catch up on, so many things have changed, from talent trees to levelling (scaled mobs so you don't outlevel zones) and tons of new contents (I stopped playing after TBC) so every single new zone is just a hit of wonder and awe.

I tried classic and it was boring as hell. The server was empty (i know everyone is on TBC classic now) but so many things felt like a chore (like no markings for where to go for quests??). Retail is definitely going to consume me for a while. I'll race to 50 and then create a new character so I can Chromie time through the expansions I missed. I don't think I'll get back into classic unless I get friends to play with. It just felt so slow and not in a fun way.

Azgalor - Senlin lvl 14 subtlety rogue. I guess I'm about to get my first talent point at 15 (where you pick from 1 of 3 now every 10 or 15 levels or so?). My main questions so far (and mainly stuff that's different from when I used to play are): SORRY TO HIJACK THE THREAD EVERYBODY - message me if you don't mind answering these, I'm sure I'll have tons more questions.

- Seems like I can quest almost anywhere and the local enemies scale to your level? As a new player, I did the shadowlands expansion newbie zone from 1-10, then went to the Battle of Azeroth story (Kul Tiras) but I went to Stormwind and walked outside, and did a bunch of quests there and basically got the impression I could wander anywhere, and do any quests I wanted as they'd scale to match my skill? Like if I went to Ironforge, I could just go outside there and quest there too? I think the older quests aren't as exciting and dynamic and the areas are quieter, but I miss some of the old areas and wouldn't mind stepping foot in them. I couldn't take how slow classic was so I'm not interested in that right now.
- What's with the mounts? There are level 2 characters with bright ass glowing mounts and I got some stupid fucking stable horse that makes me look like a total scrub. How do i stay current and cool with mounts? Something about flying at level 30?
- I have no idea what to do with the new item levels... I'm level 14 and my item level is 7 but everything at the auction house is expensive and I'm not getting good drops yet. I have no idea what I should be shooting for for the ilevel. Again, there are brand new characters with all blues and they look like theyre decked out in cool shit, and I got nothing despite being 5 hours in and level 14.
- If I follow the quests through Kul Tiras, will that take me to any dungeons? What if I just run over to a dungeon in any other part of the world? Does that scale and can I just go back to any old dungeons I remember and knock those out? (not raids, but the levelling dungeons).
- I got engineering and mining for professions, no idea if that's any good or not but if I recall, you mine shit that you need to engineer shit so yea? Are those helpful in the current version of WOW?
- One expansion area that seemed cool that I missed was Mists of Pandaria. How do I get over to that world at my current level and check things out? I love the amazement factor of new zones so I think I'd enjoy checking that out.

 

If all maps are free updates then that be 100% fine with me. campaigns in these gun games suck anyway.
