I got lost at one point in the factory for an absurd amount of time which was really frustrating considering it hadn't happened anywhere else and I was utilizing my map like every few seconds. I couldn't get out of this one area down beneath the elevator where the duke hangs out.

It’s definitely an extremely dark game lighting wise. I had to turn my settings up all the way, and I was using a 4K tv with HDR on.

Glad it wasn’t just me who had issues with the factory! Questionable level design within the factory aside, I’m pretty sure the game glitched at one point - I somehow managed to re-enter the factory from the ground floor (instead of climbing the ladder to the left of the Duke as I was supposed to do) and I literally couldn’t leave; maybe I was just THAT lost and couldn’t find the exit, but I was referencing the map every 30 seconds and I searched for nearly 30 minutes - where the exit should have been was a piece of sheet metal or something blocking it, lol. Eventually I just restarted from the save point. In any case, the factory was annoying throughout. I can’t believe how the game started versus where it ends up. I’m still enjoying it, but it really does start to feel like a different game entirely.

The only problem I had navigating the factory was when I tried to backtrack to do the last ball puzzle. I actually really liked that area, design-wise, with the Duke’s elevator moving up and down to each floor.

Yeah that was a cool aspect. Didn’t have any problems navigating the factory, but definitely think it was my least fav area.

Just beat this. I started to lose interest in the game during the factory, and I eventually started to just actively dislike it. The final boss managed to be tough (or at least until I discovered you can load into the shop) and extremely boring, while the dialogue throughout the game was excruciatingly bad, heh. Also, irrationally annoyed that the Goats of Warding have no actual effect on the game.

I’ll never forget House B, and the first three sections were fun, but it abruptly went downhill for me.

Looking at my PSN cart right now wondering if I should press the buy button. Based on trailers this looks goofy as hell and I'm kinda hoping for something scary. But then I saw someone doing a playthrough of that fucking mutant fetus monster thing so here we are. If someone expects a decent amount of atmosphere and horror in this game, how disappointed will they be?

that part your referencing is the only really scary part IMO, the rest is pretty action heavy with a lot of tension and some creepiness. It’s ultimately pretty ridiculous and over the top, but fun.

Decided to re-watch the original Resident Evil movie for the first time since I was in high school.

...all I'll say is that I am glad they are rebooting the movie series to supposedly match the vibe of the early games.

I watched the first one a few weeks ago thinking, “hey, maybe this got better with age.” Boy, was I mistaken.

Just made it to the factory. This game changed pace pretty quickly!

  15. I made it an episode and a half and had to turn it off. Terrible voice acting.

It’s ok so far; weird pacing at points. Episode 2 takes place on a sub, and does not go how I expected it to, haha

Just finished a couple days ago. My 3 year old daughter was crazy about watching me play it haha. She is fearless! Anyway, some thoughts on the game overall. Really great all around. A little on the short side and some sections should have been longer. I think the village itself should have had much more to it.

The Chris section happened so abruptly. Should have been built up more. I liked the factory. House Benevito was my favorite area/part. It’s weird the castle feels like a separate game by the end. I’m glad they set up the next installment with the ending. Wondering if that really is Ethan that comes up to the car… Only concern I have is a main protagonist having “powers”. Could take things in a lame direction.
excited to have finished a main RE game for the first time in awhile. Moving on to the RE2 remake now

Is the dialog really ever very good in RE games though? I agree it was bad, but I just don’t expect much there.

Memories are nice, but that's all they are. Prestigious

Yeah I expect bad cheesy dialogue in RE haha

Hope the direction they go in is more first half of the game, those two areas were truly incredible. Still enjoyed the second half, but nowhere near as much as the first.

One other comment: The hunting aspect sure was tacked on. Just felt really odd and unnecessary. Might of been better if there were more variety/more interesting benefits.

Makes me wonder if they are heading in more of an open world direction. I kinda hope not to be honest.

Oooo that would be interesting for the next game. I could totally get behind a more open RE game. If Souls is doing it why not RE?

I don't think I'd like an open world RE game. At least not in the mainline series. Overwhelmed me when that happened with the Evil Within sequel. Sticks more to the horror genre when you feel more isolated and trapped in a small area.

Exactly. That is why I liked each level in Village. Feeling isolated is a bag part of the horror aspect.

the powers side of things worry’s me too. Being a normal vulnerable character adds to the effect too and I wouldn’t want to see some super powered main character for the next installment.
