    Things have changed.

Honestly, I'd love to see it

Totally agree. I think they're using a similar mindset as Angels & Airwaves, announcing only 1 east coast show (for now) and hoping it draws from all over.
I feel like AVA was expecting that show to sell out immediately. Probably will eventually, right now the 1st balcony is sold out and the floor only has platinum tickets left.

The fact that the "official platinum" floor tickets aren't much higher than the original face value leads me to believe demand for this show will be light. I think their new album info leaked so I expect an onslaught of other tour dates. Plus Tom Delonge got divorced/married again so his monthly overhead likely needs some funding.

  4. Kevin Abstract keeps reposting these shows on his socials. Wonder if Brockhampton is opening?

I’ve heard this same stuff from friends in the city as well...is a 45min train ride really that much of a barrier to see a full day of music? NY has such a unique dynamic so that may be an ignorant question.

Btw, give me a Harry Styles set at a fest any day!

As someone who whines about having a 40 min commute now that I live in Prospect Heights, I can clarify first hand how long distances discourage people in the city since we’re all so spoiled by convenience.

Thinking the AVA shows might have to do with some of the NIN touring and having to share Ilan. Might be hard to book a full tour when he has dates spread out with NIN and probably production rehearsals.

Neighbourhood is also booked for Forest Hills Stadium in Queens which, again, is WAY too big for them.

He was on the Halsey amphitheater tour that got cancelled so it kind of makes sense. Odd though for sure

  13. Forest Hills seems to have a trend of booking artists that seem too big for their venue.

I feel like a big opener like BH would probably help draw a lot of people.

I honestly would've thought that Brockhampton was bigger than The Neighbourhood. Like, WAY bigger.

I'm pretty sure the last time The Neighbourhood came to NYC they played the 3,000 capacity Terminal 5. Now they're playing a 15,000 outdoor stadium? They're gonna need a strong support act and cheap tickets to fill that thing up. In fact, like most Forest Hills shows, I'm totally expecting it to be easy to get free tickets the week of.

Also just noticed that the Bayside/Senses Fail show is coming to Terminal 5. Doesnt that also feel too big? Last time I saw Bayside it was as the support act at a venue that only held 2k.

Im thinking maybe some of these venues are offering low rental costs in an effort to fill their calendars and make up for lost profits.

They are playing the Theatre at the Agora in Cleveland, which would be the biggest venue in Cle they’ve ever headlined. Five years ago, they played the (much smaller) ballroom at the Agora and when they have bigger openers, they’ve played House of Blues - still smaller than Agora Theatre.

I asked Agora if they were playing ballroom or theater and they confirmed Theater, which in a typical year, would shock me but it’s either A) maybe they aren’t selling to capacity due to COVID Or B) they expect a pent up demand due to no shows for past 15 months or so.

Or maybe C) what you’ve alluded to, but I remember reading a Rolling Stone article few months ago about touring resuming saying unless less venues are filling up to near capacity, everyone will be losing out on money (bands and venues).

Yeah, and didn’t Brockhampton become like, an arena-tier group too?

They did T5 and BK Steel. I thought it'd be an easy last minute ticket but ended up over-paying slightly for the T5 show as both sold out. Also, funny enough, the first time I saw The Neighbourhood they had The 1975 OPENING for them (they also had Travis Scott opening for them at one point).

  20. Nah their last tour only hit the theater at MSG which holds like 5500 and I don't think it sold out

Yeah, the Portland venue is twice as big the biggest venue they’ve ever headlined here. It’s weird though because the venue this was originally supposed to come to is just as big. I’m thinking they are playing bigger venues because it’s the 20th anniversary and they expect nostalgia to sell with SF/HH supporting. I’m surprised they aren’t playing self titled or TWW to boost sales.

Brandon from TBDM posted a countdown for an announcement tomorrow that ends at 12 pm EST. So more then likely TBDM headliner coming tomorrow.

Yeah the Anaheim HOB is about twice as big as the venues they usually headline around here. I was kinda surprised, even though that type of music always does super well down here

Kevin Abstract opened for The Neighbourhood as a solo artist way back in the day (when American Boyfriend came out, before there were any BH albums), he could either be opening as a solo artist again or just shouting them out for putting him on
