so spatial audio isn't coming to any headphones with h1 or w1 chip like initially advertised? they initially said beats headphones would have it but that video made it seem otherwise... odd

 

This would be amazing.

 

man, I'm really bummed they did zero product announcements. Really want an AirPods gen 3.

 

So it seems we won't be upgrading our iPad Pro. Disappointing iPadOS updates. The M1 is not being utilised enough to warrant and upgrade based on just the screen.

yeah but when they had that bit with spatial audio and the guy took out AirPods out of his ear I felt that was a prime moment for "and all of these features work great in the new and improved AirPods 3rd generation!" but alas.

 

All and all, similar to the "Tick/Tock" years of iDevices, this feels like a "Tock" year of software updates to go with the big "Tick" of last year.

 

So uh what happened with that Spatial Audio event?

 

Lowkey super useful/exciting feature, long time coming but they seem to have done it well: iOS 15 Photos App Now Displays EXIF Metadata for Images

 

Might have been developers only or just a mistake haha

iPadOS was kind of a bummer. Feels like they're either a bit unsure of how they want to progress it further or the product and software teams working on the iPad are not aligned: product updates are being driven purely by what is technologically possible, not what capabilities the software team require to realise their vision (what even is their vision?)

 

Why does it feel like Apple is pulling a Kanye with spatial audio? lol

 

There must have been some last minute speed bumps. People in the iOS15 beta are confirming its now showing up for them (it wasn't a couple hours ago). Random people across other OS's are posting its showing up for them now but seems pretty sporadic.

 

Yeah, I felt the move to iPad's OS being called iPadOS and not just iOS gave them the full greenlight to make it notably different, but still meaningfully complimentary to iOS (and macOS etc. for that matter.) Yet at the moment it is still very much baby steps, still feels they are uncomfortable making more than Big iOS.

Still no native weather or calculator app huh.

I know it's no big and I'll get it soon, but I'm feeling very impatient and want to listen to all the Dolby things!
