This is my favorite use of this in a while.

 

For me the weird thing is realizing you’re older than a huge percentage of professional sports players

 

I have no idea why, but the big ones for me with this idea were cops, and then doctors in the hospital when my aunt was admitted in there. That was the first time I remember them all looking like Doggie Howser to me.

 

Do y’all not remember being able to eat without gaining much weight and drinking two days in a row and it not absolutely destroying you for the rest of the week and, well, you know, not having near the same amount of responsibilities?! Lol

Forreal tho....30s are actually great because I’m way more financially secure and doing the married and dad thing, and I’m still young enough to enjoy things more than I prob will be in my 40s, but....Hard to pass up on the 20s

 

Anyway this convo is timely because I just got home from graduation and it was my first class of kids that I was here for all 4 years at this school and it was great seeing them all grow so much over the last 4 years. But yeah they were born in 2003ish and are going to college now, so....

 

Lol probably not a day in 2020 I didn’t drink

 

lmao. True. Maybe I should have said “binge drinking”. Though I def drank less than usual this year because I’m def more of a social drinker and no going out and socializing meant much less drinking for me.

My body is done with alcohol at this point. I’m in pain the next day even if it’s only like 2-3 drinks lol.

 

I’m never binge drinker 2 nights in a row. More like getting shitfaced once per weekend.

 

My 20s were fun at times, dating my wife, married late 20s, finishing school, getting my foot in the door of the field I wanted to be in, etc. but it also got kickstarted with traumatic events that I didn’t have the wherewithal or intellectual capacity to comprehend until my 30s which has been a real watershed event in my life. I have kids now and love pouring my heart and soul into them. I’m still just as unhappy as ever professionally and I live with the unending dread that I might never get the chance to do what I really want to do, but I don’t ever want to go back. I spent years thinking that way and it fucked me mentally. Learning mindfulness and being present in my 30s is a preferable place to be and I have to hope that each decade that passes will bring a new perspective on life that makes me appreciate what I’ve attained. I’d like to arrive at a healthy place where I can appreciate each stage of life while also respecting that each one had its downsides that worked toward hopefully making me a better person.

Unless the world burns to cinders due to climate change or *a* Trump gets into the White House again and we all get nuked of course.

Could go either way I suppose.

I can't tell if you are joking, probably because I am fairly drunk right now.

 

Nope, not joking, haha; I actually really hate the taste of beer. Love whiskey though, and I've gotten more into wine the last few years

 

Lol the only thing that makes me feel old is when i notice an album i really remember loving is old. Like, i was watching the Bloodbuzz Ohio music video when my wife and i were high recently and i realized “oh shit, i was watching the video a decade ago.” That shit got me.

 

Being a 6 out of 10 drunk is fun. Anything more than that would make me sick immediately. But I’m not a big drinker to begin with. Give me pot over alcohol any day.

Starting my 30s in a couple of months, but I'm not entirely convinced that any decade is actually good.

 

27 and im in the part of the punk life cycle where i start caring about my fitness and nutrition. will probably be into mixed martial arts and shit by the time i hit 30

 

I had a lot of great times while drunk. And also said and did a lot of things I either regret or know I shouldn’t have lol. I’m glad I got some partying in but I also can’t see why some people are like noooope
