I don’t think it’s that drastic. Most likely reason is that the two sides shared a mutual interest and began to talk, after a couple days of talking it wasn’t a match and wasn’t going to work so they called it off. The media reporting it was done or basically done is making it seem worse and more dramatic. With that said, I don’t know what Levy expected when approaching Conte. And honestly, same for Conte. What did he expect when approaching Levy?

I know he had a great season but being 13th after like 5 games doesn't mean a lot when you have the most stacked team in the league. That was going to balance out regardless. He was definitely important for them and improved their backline tremendously, but I don't understand giving him the award over Kane. It is an individual award and Kane had the best individual season.

 

It looks like Villa have moved ahead of Arsenal in the chase for Buendia. They are linked to Dwight McNeil, too. If they have a front 4 of Grealish, Buendia, McNeil and Watkins next season they could do some serious bits.

 

I did not wake up today expecting Villa to beat Arsenal to a signing…

The Sancho “saga” from last year was hilarious. I thought we would sign him but obviously we fucked that up. But reading all the “ITK’s” saying how it was happening every day was a sight to behold and people were hanging on to every word these nobodies were saying. It was great fun. They’ve started again a couple of weeks ago. The scary part is the people who do it have set up a Patreon and a website so they’re making money preying on people who believe them.

 

I didn’t think Wijnaldum was a good signing for Barca overall, but it was hard to argue with on a free.

A pseudo-state run club coming in and offering double the salary that we could to hijack the deal just drives home the fact that the three remaining super league clubs aren’t entirely wrong in their arguments: football is broken. They’re just a little responsible for helping that along, too.
