Are there any movie presidents worth supporting? Not sure I would have voted for President Bill Pullman, but I think he handled the Extra-Terrestrial Invasion of 1996 rather well.

Yes, of course, but this was in response to the new report that Biden is making even more cuts the infrastructure bill which only needs 50 votes to pass if they do reconciliation. Although, to be honest, has Manchin even said that he would oppose using reconciliation for the infrastructure bill? I feel like it's been more vague statements about how he hopes the end result will be bipartisan. (Which not at all to say that the fillibuster does not need to go, just that there are still a few things that could be done in the interim until Manchin & co realize that bipartisanship is never going to work)

 

Manchin isn't the only one, but there's def a perception that if he crumbles, the rest will follow. I don't know if they'd all follow on straight up filibuster elimination, but some sort of change/reform to it for sure

 

You all say things like “when they realize bipartisanship isn’t an option” as if they haven’t been in politics seeing everything you see and more for decades. They aren’t naive idealists. They don’t want to protect democracy, pass the things their voters voted for, etc. It’s that simple. This is all kayfabe.

 

If only it was really this simple.
