If Trump still had a presence on social media I think there would be a better chance at something happening. His unhinged "official statements" just don't carry as much weight as the unhinged tweets in both the population and media

Still wouldn't be surprised if some other kind of attack happens in August. All these people need is a date and vague directions. Not being in power prevents him from hampering a defense, but anything could happen and a lot of these are very unwell.

I'm bored at work and my wife sent me one of those dumb how many states have you been to things, depending on the source, it varies GREATLY what the average is for Americans, ranging from 8 states to 25 lol. I've been to 22 states + DC, my parameters I gave myself for what doesn't count is a layover in a state where you never left the airport.

    Connecticut
    Delaware
    Florida
    Iowa

Man I need to travel more, my list is not as robust as I was thinking. We are driving to Asheville next month so that will knock out North Carolina and maybe West Virginia depending on how we drive home. The lack of Northeast and West states is the big ones. Would like to do a Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine trip soon...mainly for beer and hiking.

    California
    Florida
    Illinois
    Indiana

Not counting states I've just driven through, like Connecticut, the Carolinas and Georgia. Also, Minnesota kind of barely counts because I only went once when I was like 2.

I've been to 10, maybe 11 on a technicality, and I can't imagine finding a reason to go to a lot of them

The Upper Peninsula of Michigan should count as another state. It's a damn near five hour drive to hit Lake Superior and 9 hours to get to Copper Harbor (the most northern city in the UP). Such an odd but beautiful part of this state that I got to explore last summer.

Would love to travel out west sometime in the near future. Planning to go down the Pensacola to visit my sister maybe later this month, so will probably be able to check off Alabama since it's so close to there. The goal is to eventually have gone to all 50 states. I'm young I've got plenty of time lol

does driving through the state count as being there in your book or having to actually sit down somewhere need to be in this?

If not, I’ve been in Maine (live there)
All states down the east coast to get to Florida (not looking at a map now)

    and also

    Nevada
    California

Hoping to knock out Illinois and Washington next year as we have family there, probably Nevada too.

damn, trying to remember what states I did actually eat in then lol. Definitely remember being a kid and being in like Virginia/South Carolina and stopped at a Cracker Barrel and they still had a smoking section sand thinking it smelt so bad lol. Pretty sure the one and only time I ate at Hardee’s/Carl’s jr was in Georgia I think?

Ive been to all of New England, I've driven from NH to FL, and I've been to Colorado and Indiana.

My parents had a timeshare growing up and we just traded it for a new location every year. But we couldn't afford to fly, so we kept it within long drives along the east coast. I don't know how my parents dealt with screaming kids for 6+ hour rides lol

Living in or visiting the North East/New England area it's real easy to knock out quite a few states lol, we visited Summer '19 that's where we checked off most of those driving from Virginia north up to Maine

*=Not sure if all of these count. We drove through the Oklahoma and Idaho pandhandles. Stayed a night in Oklahoma (in Boise City, Oklahoma actually), and stopped at a brewery in Bonner's Ferry, Idaho. So not sure if that counts. Mississippi and Alabama we also just drove through their little mini panhandles and stopped to eat/drink at a brewery in each.

The goal is to get to all 50 and to also see as many, if not all, of the national parks we possibly can. We're up near 20 for that I think?

PS Wyoming is definitely cool as hell and we shouldn't be so quick to dismiss that suggestion from a couple years ago of just getting like 150K libs to move there and tip the state blue lol.

It might actually be my favorite state in the union....though lack of a beach might make it not so

I remember reading about how voters in Wyoming actually really care about conservation and environmental issues. Not surprising to me given the abundant landscapes and natural resources they have. I think you mentioned once in here about how you would like to see a dem candidate go there at least once during the election cycle to talk about their environmental policy, which isn't a bad idea.
