Downloaded and played Disco Elysium for about an hour yesterday, but refunded it. There is so much text to read, I feel like the experience will be much better on a handheld console. I can tell it's a very good game, just going to wait for the Switch port.

 

I got it on my MacBook so I can play it in bed. I can't recommend it highly enough but I would also advise everyone to get it on a platform that is not hooked up to a television set. It's a friggin book.

 

Such an amazing game. Loving it on my PS5, and yeah it could be a lot more easy to read on the Switch.

 

Really underwhelmed by that monster hunter update but maybe the story ending is bigger than I assume. It’s not as bad when you consider they’re doing more updates with more monsters for the next two months, though. Really think I’ll love stories, the more I find out about it the better it seems. It definitely seems like it has some elements from dragonquest monsters in it.

 

Outer worlds is great but the load times are frustrating

 

Mother and Punch-Out!! and it's not even close.

Unfortunately, I can't see them ever making a Punch-Out game again because of the cultural stereotypes involved. People are way too sensitive now to find this game charming and hilarious.

I think you can easily do a modern Punch out without being racist.

 

They were terrible on my One X. I can't imagine the horror they must be on Switch.

 

Just to be clear, are you saying that cultural stereotypes are charming and hilarious?

 

Stereotypes aside, I don’t think you can make a better Punch-Out than the games that exist in the age of input lag and all that.

Yes. The past two Punch-Out games did it extremely well.

 

Aw man....I remember spending a loooot of time playing F-Zero.

Me and my friends STILL play Super Strikers once in a while when we're all together (so obviously it's been over a year)....on one hand I want that, on the other I don't know if it'd be the same with updated graphics and all that.

Gotcha. Personally I think stereotypes are unhelpful at best and actively harmful at worst. Seems it should be easy enough to make a cartoon boxing game that avoids them.

 

ARMS

 

I couldn’t get into the mechanics and gameplay of Arms as much as I would have liked. I prob pay $30 for this game, but Nintendo never puts it on sale.

 

In school I definitely felt bad sometimes because certain people kept confronting me with comparatively harmless stereotypes about where I am from (though they always made it clear that they are trying to hurt me). Things add up. I agree that Punch-Out doesn’t seem malicious, but yeah, it’s time to move on regardless.
