I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the 00’s metalcore revival but I’m still waiting on a band to go full blown As Blood Runs Black or My Bitter End. When is that happening lol.

I’d be surprised if deathcore ever made a true comeback. Not saying it can’t but it would surprise me.

ABRB’s Allegiance album still holds up to this day. Just had a fun revisit for the first time in awhile.

goddamn. i can't complain about something that's essentially a fusion of everything heavy i love generally, but releases like that aren't usually this cohesive. between this and the new fiddlehead album, i haven't really gotten to anything else released this week nor probably will i.

This is a very good album. I agree with you there. Also, that fiddlehead album really grabbed me

At the Throne of Judgement - The Arcanum Order

Despite how many times I had this album on in my 96 merc sable shitbox or on in any place I had access to an iHome to dock the pod, I could never get any of my metal loving friends into this. I still listen to it regularly idk perfect melodeathcore to thine ears, give it a listen if you like that 2005 style bass boomz

The crazy thing is that record was on Rise before they went all Rise-core.

Since we all decided to go down this rabbit hole of the week, I discovered that War From A Harlot’s Mouth just released a remastered version of their best album, MMX. Loved it then and even more now.

They unfortunately didn’t remaster the (Deftones) cover of Hexagram they had on the original release but you can find that on streaming too.

That whole sound of EARLY early deathcore like old Black Dahlia and the other bands that have been mentioned has always been super charming and fascinating to me. There really was some sort of magic in the air with those bands.

I think what it was was fresh blood in the scene playing melodic death metal that had the ethos of punk from a human being standpoint instead of the elitism and ego that was prevalent in the metal scene in the early 2000s.

Those were some of the first riffs I ever learned. Simple but fun.
