In an Instagram live Lloyd Vines was saying the same type of things regarding love bombing. He said Chris maintained the power dynamic by stalling on the production of his album in order to keep Lloyd around in Chico. He said he started recording with Chris in December of 2019 and hasn't received the recordings yet.

Also he called out Chris for not really being an anti-racist but acting like one online for social media approval points.

He also said people in the industry are contacting him now to try to influence the way he talks about Chris.

Realized I've gotta take down a large signed poster when I get home.

Damn, poor Lloyd... dudes seriously talented and seems super nice. About the industry stuff... did he say in what way? Aka are they defending Chris?

This whole situation is horrible and keeps getting worse.

He said it was people reaching out to do damage control. He also mentioned Equal Vision reached out to him to talk to him (no other context given) but that he didn't trust them. He said people have been DMing him expressing sadness about what is happening to Saves The Day without realizing that he was done wrong by Chris too.

    Edit: here is the Live

Jam Dream by Dr Manhattan was produced by Chris and I love that album. Lots of talented people worked with him. Sucks.

FYI I just heard back from TTTH, they’re giving me a refund for the In Reverie vinyl.

Sold all my STD records to my local record store today for 100 bucks and it feels great to just get rid of them

Looks like they aren't on Riot Fest lineup anymore.

  9. There’s no way Chris even has bandmates anymore

  10. Would be nice to get a confirmation on that.

They're probably dealing with the fallout of it all and trying to figure out what to do. A lot of cancelled plans I'd assume.

FYI - the Ups and Downs repress has been cancelled by the label if anyone here ordered it or was planning on it.

It's so weird to have been so excited for the In Reverie pressing and then have all this happen and basically just want to melt the vinyl.

Yup. Can prolly sell it on eBay to the plenty of fans who want to ignore the situation.

Hang onto it and resell it, make that cash back and then some.

I’m still excited for the In Reverie vinyl. My therapist said I should keep it in context with my own experiences. For example my bass playing was super influenced especially by that album.

And yes I talked to my therapist about the Conley situation and how it fucked me up.

  17. Hey, everyone is gonna work through it differently. And that’s okay.

I personally got a refund. I did however hold onto my BN vinyl for quite awhile back in the day as I worked through that.

  18. Yeah, I don't think spending some time with an album that helped you in some way is equivalent to ignoring the situation at all. Grief is complicated.

As I and others mentioned above, there’s still time to cancel the order and get a refund for the In Reverie vinyl if you so choose. No need to wait to get it and then try to resell it.

I’d love to say grief is as easy or simple as writing someone off is, but it’s not. Isn’t that crazy messed up

Absolutely. My mom died about 3 years ago and I was emotionally frozen. I didn’t cry at the funeral, I was numb to everything around me. It wasn’t until I listened to “This is Not an Exit” that I literally just lost it. All the emotions I had buried were coming up listening to that song and that album. SWYA, In Reverie, and the trilogy were almost like my “spirit guides” in navigating that grief. I always low key judged people who were having trouble dealing with their favorite artist being a shit person, but I completely get it. The CC situation felt like I lost a piece of my identity because the band means / meant (?) that much to me. It’s a weird fuckin feeling.

Was Chris going to actually make any money off of the In Reverie repress? Saves the Day themselves never actually marketed for the repressing. By all means seek a refund if you want to save money / want to cut the band out of your life entirely, but also maybe it's okay to support the vinyl producers? Could legit be talking out of my ass here, and also I never got the vinyl to begin with. Maybe just something to consider.

im pretty sure that EVR was going to press cant slow down and vagrant was going to do SWYA in addition to the color pressing of Ups and Downs, and all of those are now canned.

Most likely not. Take This To Your Heart Records is a great label though with some incredible bands.

Yeah I understand not wanting the STD record but the licensing for the record was already bought so the band and the major they got the rights from are already paid. At this point you would just be hurting Take This To Heart and Parting Gift.
