are we still lucky to be here? Prestigious

Gotta assume that's the case and they're on the show but just can't announce it yet.

Going from 15 months of not logging on here to now refreshing this thread at noon every day for the past week has been cathartic.

Do we know if venues are going to reduce the capacity numbers once everything is open again? I can't imagine being crammed like sardines in a sold out show in the House Of Blues in Chicago only a few months after re-opening.

Oh yeah, oh yeah, everything is terrible.

Ive almost missed lamenting the tours that won't hit up here

although I could definitely catch that Hail the Sun tour

  7. This is a tough one (and something I'm sure venues are wrestling with). I haven't seen anything from any of the venues I follow, but if capacity is reduced, everyone playing/working still has to get paid, so ticket and/or drink prices would definitely go up.

    idk man

I personally doubt it. If they were going to have reduced capacity there wouldn't be rescheduled tours that already had sold out dates. Also the venues will check to see if people are vaccinated so that would dramatically reduce the risk of spread, and of course venues want to maximize their profits while minimizing the costs. It's going to be interesting to see how this goes over the next few months as more and more venues start to reopen.

It's a good question. FWIW, the Alice Cooper/Ace Frehley dates came with this info:

Venues will be operating with reduced capacities and guidelines accordingly to COVID-19 restrictions and policies. For more information on individual shows please contact the venue.

Every show i've seen is selling full capacity. A lot of the artists/clubs/promoters can't make much money on anything but being able to sell full capacity

I wish Boston Calling would have followed through with moving it to the fall instead of cancelling completely

Right but that still, potentially, could take away from sales from the festival but Gov Ball tends to be more liberal with radius clauses.

I’d think Asbury Park would be outside of the radius clause as well. Queens to Asbury is a trek.

  23. cricketandclover

    Things have changed.

Eh, it's only 70 miles. I'd say that's well within a major festival radius.

A radius clause for Asbury would be irrelevant anyway since they announced Shadow of the City years ago. It's been a sold out show so it was never competing for ticket buyers. Even the most recent date change for SOTC that puts them days apart was a while before the Governor's Ball lineup dropped.

And the Pier 17 show is nothing new for Governor's Ball. Hoping we see some more The Governor's Ball Presents shows from acts at the festival announced soon.
