I’m very surprised that the abductor wasn’t someone we had already met.

 

Its not the holy shit great show I was expecting. Having every single character in this show have some awful secret and being terrible people is just so... so unrealistic. Not every character needs some wacky hidden secret.

Did I miss something? What happened to the book guy that Kate Winslet first liked

 

I don't think anything happened per se - she's still kind of casually dating him. I think she was just going on dates with Zabel cuz she wanted to keep working the case.

This is my reaction to when they namedrop shit from around here lol.

They mentioned Duffers in the latest episode, which is a bar (well, two bars) I frequented a lot in my newly 21 days lol. Two different groups of friends I hung with would go there because it was close to the border and PA bars are open an hour later than DE bars.

One of them ended up getting in trouble because they had a "school girl competition" and most of the contestants just ended up flashing the crowd/stripping and yeah you can't basically have a strip show in your bar when you're not a licensed strip club lol

 

Just got to the end sequence of the episode....holy shit!

 

Okay, just caught up with this. And now we have to wait two weeks. UGH.

So who is everyone betting on as the final killer? I think the creepy cousin is the father, but just another red herring. Hoping it's not Guy Pearce, my guess is Mare's best friend.

 

Same! Just not sure why.

 

The show is doing everything in can to make you suspect everyone, that's for sure. The whole convo this past episode about "did your dad do it again" and "was it the same person" and etc casts some suspicion on literally all three of them. Did Mare's friend do it because of jealousy, did her husband do it to cover up his gross relationship with his niece....did the son do it because he resented it breaking up his mom and dad? etc

 

it’s gotta be the uncle at this point. leaving a full beer, give me a break!

Also it was implied but did Mare grab it for DNA purposes or no?

 

yeah we didn’t see anything explicit but i think that was the implication

 

I didn't even pick up on the DNA aspect of the Rolling Rock - I just thought they showed the beer because it was super suspicious how he got up to get a new one and even asked everyone else if they wanted one in a manner that seemed to suggest he'd be sticking around at least long enough to finish another beer, but then he panicked and ran out the door having barely taken a sip of it.

 

My wife immediately blurted out "She's got his DNA" when it showed the beer lol. She was all over it.

 

My wife immediately went to DNA too lol. I thought it was just that he didn’t finish it. She could easily get DNA off an empty bottle he drank out of

 

Something about that guy felt off to me in I think the second episode but I thought maybe he just didn’t know how to handle his grief. Also definitely thought the dad was molesting his son with all the “is your dad doing it again” talk

 

i kind of assumed the dad knew what his brother (cousin?) was doing and was getting the kid to stfu about it

the dad just being a horndog makes a lot more sense

 

I also was surprised by the best friend burning the journals with Dylan and the friend.
Side bar: for some reason I can barely remember anyone’s name on this show

 

I never remember anyone’s names on shows like this. I need 3 seasons of a show and then I’ll remember.

 

To be fair there are a lot of characters and every one's a suspect. Not saying they're two-dimensional or anything, but I kinda wish the show was longer so the writing could luxuriate a bit and we could get to know these people better.

 

i feel like we have a pretty good grasp of all the characters. who do we need more depth with really?
