Cool to see a thread for this on here! Was exposed to this guy's music several years ago by a prof who had lived in Mali, before he started getting more international attention. Awesome that he's really getting some traction now. Haven't checked out the new one yet but in sure I'll like it

Just checked this out after seeing it crop up on a few end of year lists. Really enjoyed it. I'll admit to being stuck in very US/UK-centric listening habits so it's nice to break out and experience something different.

Obviously they probably are more privileged than a lot of Nigeriens but I’ve been thinking all week about those guys and their friends who were in the documentary from several years ago, pre-Afrique Victime. Admittedly my only real point of reference for Niger or the Sahel region frankly
