Also hot take: Collapsible Lung is better than I remember

 

I’ve always liked Collapsible Lung. I think if I’m known for anything on this site though, it’s god awful music taste.

 

Cmon where are these dates?!

Can we take a moment to acknowledge the fact that after a leaked message stated news was coming on Monday, we’ve had nothing official and that this is peak Relient K 2011-2021?

I kind of love it these days.

 

Wait so is this a FANSD tour ?

 

My best guess would be that they are working on/planning to announce a FANSD tour and haven’t said anything about that date because they want to wait to announce the tour.

This date got out there because it was a part of the big announcement that the venue was reopening. I also noticed Ben Folds had a date at that venue and then yesterday he announced a full tour that included that date. So maybe it’s a similar thing?

But I mean I have no idea. Just speculating.

 

I’m just thrilled that they are somewhat active again.

 

Had a dream (because everybody loves hearing about strangers dreams, right?) the other night that they put out a new single called Typical, the title track of their new record. Sounded like Don't Blink but a little poppier.

Sad that this will never happen, although I do not know why my brain came up with the word "typical" lol

 

A single show announcement is the most news in along time so I'll take it, hopefully more to come. It's like the familiar quote says "the announcement of a thousand shows begins with a single date." Well, something close to that anyway

 

Wow, I can't be the only one who completely forgot Wind Up Bird exists, I'm shocked how it completely left my mind until I just came across it again by chance.

Yeah, shit this album is actually really good. I gotta get this into my rotation more often

 

I love that album. Really hoping we get more solo Matt stuff if we don't get more RK. Just love his songwriting.

 

Yeah there's a ton of unique turns of phrases, and cool musical shifts and melodies as well. He definitely has his own unique style that works really well most of the time

 

I do like that album but wish that it had more piano driven songs, love all the previous Earthquakes songs he did

 

There was a rumour he was doing a piano led album straight after but it never materialised. I do love the release though. But I would love a stripped back piano album one day. The emotion! I wouldn’t be able to cope!

 

I would cry in front of my parents (my worst nightmare) if it meant getting an album in the vein of (If You Want it).

 

I think there was talk a new Earthquakes album was still coming, Wind Up Bird is one of my favorites from 2018

Absolutely awesome… man I miss hearing his voice

 

Yeah, I forget it exists often but when I'm reminded it's a pleasant time. Really lovely summer album.

 

Sorry to bump the thread but Thiessen just showed up on my Instagram feed and I got excited.

Also, y’all should check out Luthi if you haven’t. Fantastic funk band from Nashville.
