Hell yeah!

 

I know what I’m playing this weekend

 

I’ve never played the borderlands games so I doubt I’ll see the movie.

 

I played Borderlands, never played 2, and have had my friend’s copy of 3 sitting in my room untouched for a few months now. Is it any good?

 

1 barely has a story; judging from the character list it looks like the movie is some combination of 1 and 2 which I guess would kind of make sense. I love 2, especially its 4th DLC. 3 is pretty good, but the rollout of its DLC (two season passes) was terrible so I haven't bothered getting them.

Also the Pre-Sequel is okay, but there's one part of the story that I really didn't like. The Telltale game is really good and doesn't require that you've played all the other ones.

For the most part I'd say the main draw of the series are the characters. Aaand some really awesome guns. You've already played the first one, so if you're down for some silly humor and side quests that occasionally lean progressive, I'd say wait for a sale, maybe grab a friend or two, and play them, or at the very least play 2 (and the Tiny Tina DLC).

edit: come to think of it, I haven't played any of the Pre-Sequel's DLCs, either.

 

Two is a must. The Tiny Tina DLC is one of the best ever. Three continues where two left off but lacks a lot of what made two so great. The Pre-Sequel is fun and has a good story as well. Although the Telltale game can be played without any idea who the characters are, it enriches the story to know who they are.

2 > Telltale > pre-sequel > 1 > 3

 

I'd like them more if they weren't made by Gearbox.

2 was pretty good for what it was, and the PS might as well be an expansion of 2. 3 felt horribly outdated (but not more than 2 would now), though I only played a few hours.

 

2 was fantastic

 

These colour schemes look sick, they go so well with the controller.

Downloading Mass Effect for tomorrow.
