The sheer maliciousness of people responding to clubs/reporters regarding players/their injuries is... sadly, not all that shocking. But, my word, where do these people find the gumption? That player is still just another human being.

Roberto, mostly. Has been building for the last two-three seasons, but the last day has been something else.

 

Really looking for the rebuild this Summer. Even if the squad is just different and not immediately better. There's a lot of the current squad I'd like gone. Xhaka isn't one of them

 

@Garrett who is Emerson Royal and is he good?

 

He's Real Betis's starting RB, bought by Barcelona to be Sergi Roberto's back-up (pre-Dest) and sent on loan to gain experience. Has played for Brazil a couple times. I personally want to see Dest moved back to the left (for USMNT reasons; but Jordi Alba continues to not really age when it comes to attacking, so it's hard to want to take him off the pitch for Barcelona reasons) and Emerson on the right; at least to see how it looks. But I've heard a lot of chatter about us selling him due to the rise of Mingueza (eh).

If we drop the 3-4-3 for the 4-3-3, it would be much better for his inclusion. But that depends on the coach.

Yeah, I ask because Spurs and Arsenal are the two teams I keep seeing linked to him. All I've seen of him is his youtube clips haha but he seems pretty big compared to a lot of today's RBs. Didn't seem like the typical modern day "I'm decent at defending and I'm really fast so put me at RB" type defender. It was just a few highlights but he seemed strong and physical.

 

Excellent read as always from the athletic. I'd be shocked if Leno was sold, seems to me there's enough inadequacies to address rather than adding another position to the todo list.

Well the rumours are that he wants to go. He's denied it but I think he has fallen out with the goalkeeping coach.

Is Michael Olise expected to move up to a PL team? He seems ready for the jump and if Spurs are going to start a rebuild he’s a guy I’d for sure want on the team.

It’s interesting how two players who have always been inconsistent and a bit mercurial in Carrasco and Correa have been so integral to them in the last couple of months.

Getting Carrasco back from China is low key a very important bit of business Atletico have done in a period where they have frankly wasted a LOT of money.
