I think in 2018 they did the same thing of "special price for 2019 if you hold your ticket" and on October/November they sent a link to buy tickets for $99 + fees, and I think you had to use your e-mail as an access code. So I guess it will be something similar, they will have a data base of people who didnt ask for a refund and just send it to them.

For sure this will apply after Riot weekend

Aw man! Korn and Staind are out. Playing Tinley Park in August.

The “Aw man!” is sarcasm for Staind but genuine for Korn

Well. That's a bummer. That's what we get for being optimists, eh?

He could just be trolling we all know how much he likes to troll. He could say that and in an hour or later today it could drop out of nowhere

Maybe the teaser will be this afternoon and then they will announce at 12:01 a.m.

I mean, they troll and they have a tendency toward being sarcastic. But they generally don't spread disinformation like that.

That being said. It could be that we get the announcement for the announcement today... Today feels like the last day for that. If they move the goalpost again and we wind up not getting this by end of week, I'm gonna be bummed.

Has Riot Fest ever given such a specific time frame for release of line-up information? I feel like they may have said a month at least once or twice - and they hit it. But just barely. And if this thread has taught me anything this last year it's that my memory can be shit. Hah.

If we don’t get it this week everybody will be bummed and it won’t be a good week. If they weren’t going to be able to make the first half of may deadline I feel like they should have announced that by now instead of letting everyone be super hyped all week just to let everybody down.

One would hope. But people tend to get over being "bummed out" pretty quickly after the line-up actually drops, hah. So there's not much motivation there. I just hope that if they do have to bump it out they let us know instead of just letting it hang.

    But, for what it's worth...

Did some digging around the web site today and found some new images that were uploaded yesterday a bit before we noticed the tickets changing over to "sold out."

It's the same font used for the different ticket tiers when you click that link on the ticket page but they are for "TRANSFERS & REFUNDS."

Again, I'm feeling like the "delay" is due to the processes they need to implement for all the different ticketing options and getting that ready to go.

its so funny looking at DWP fest pages and blue ridge on FB and see how much these metal fest go out of their way to be cool with their fans and interact and shit, while we sit here and take our abuse, while still singing the praises of our fest ... do we officially have Stockholm syndrome? haha.

we can all assume they are going through hell working around the MCR dropout and covid stuff in general so i dont want to heap negativity on them or anything, and they do get sincere when they need to, just some specificity would be nice. for some reason i feel much more anxious about this year than i did about 2018, i was one of the few people over on reddit trying to talk people off the ledge up until the weezer/rtj/tbs announcement, but i guess the year-plus gap of no shows has taken a toll on me

I've always felt like the DWP fests were run in a more "professional/corporate" manner than a lot of the other rock festivals. Don't they have a partnership with LiveNation or something too? I'm sure that helps in terms of setting line-ups and being able to firmly say when things are going to happen. I've noticed that LTL added Korn today just after the full tour was announced. They announced MGK around the time that tour dropped too.

On the flipside, Blue Ridge kinda feels like Montebello Rockfest used to in that its so independent and grass roots that they can pretty much do whatever they want. And that uh, didn't always work so great for that fest after a certain point.

Riot Fest is somewhere in the middle. It's a big operation run by a relatively small crew and they probably don't have the "juice" to lock things in the way the DWP festivals do - and to an extent, they are booking the same caliber of acts. They also have a very specific image and aesthetic that their social media presence really plays into.

This is all to say that I think some of it has to do with Riot's station as far as festivals are concerned, and the rest is branding. We all know to expect it at this point. Haha.

I'm sure they're working their asses off trying to make this happen. Not just dealing with talent, but the ticketing logistics and COVID regulations are causing shifts internally as well.

It'll come out sooner rather than later, but I hear you! Haha.

I keep going back and forth as to whether that might happen or not. If it's next week, I really hope they say something about it instead of just letting it hang. Especially with the initial statement still pinned to their twitter.

The statement says first half of May but the actual tweet just says May

it sure seems like there’s a game plan and they’re not too worried. Maybe the site is still being updated. Maybe Thursday was always the plan. Either way, I don’t think we’re in 2018 or 2020 territory. This feels like business as usual (even though it’s frustrating to those of us who thought it’d be today)

My business degree I got 16 years ago is useless, but I do know a press release holds more precedent than a tweet

Nice! That means they’re leaning into it...

Thinking the statement (posted to their web site) trumps the tweet phrasing.
