History Lesson and @!#?@! are the ones that immediately come to mind, I can’t remember which song or songs on PS fall into that category rn off the top of my head. barely remember how a lot of that album goes tbh.

I'm also a little tired of CTTM considering most of their standard set feels like it's CTTM songs. So I'll pass.

I definitely listen to MDL and Panic Stations least. It’s kind of likeJustin’s first solo album. Like some songs, others are ok.

  7. "@!#?@!" is like Weezer on steroids, which might explain why I like it so much haha. My Dinosaur Life never clicked with me as their "perfect album" like it did for so many upon release, but I'd be hard-pressed to say they have a bad record, even if nothing quite touches those first two or three. Add me to the list of folks who think Go is very underrated.

I don’t really like Weezer much at all anymore so perhaps that explains why I don’t like that song then haha

They should do a tenth anniversary tour of how many times they've celebrated CTTM with a tour lol love the album, but damn guys, you have so much more material and the people really want new material as well

CTTM is my favorite overall. There's a reason they rely on it so much: it's a perfect album. Out of the other first four, I find myself reaching for I Am the Movie maybe the most these days, but really it just depends on my mood and I couldn't actually choose between them. Go & Panic Stations are both still great, but a notch below the rest. I like Go more as a whole, but the highs on Panic Stations keep them on equal ground for me.

  12. IATM is definitely my favorite, but CTTM never fails to cheer me up.

I remember back when some contributor from punknews.org said that the best unsigned band you need to discover is Motion City Soundtrack. The song linked to the article was Don’t Call
it A Comeback. Checked it out. He was right. Band got signed not to long after to Epitaph and re-released I Am The Movie. I have a nostalgic connection to that record and I also think it covers all their sounds.

Commit This to Memory is more polished and professional. Great songs and felt fitting to expand the audience. Mark did a really good job on this record and is like the 1A to the 1 in my rankings. I kind feel like they are of equal importance in establishing and confirming my enjoyment of this band.

How did Not Asking You To Leave not make the original record? Song is so brilliantly written to get stuck in your head.

Definitely the sweeter poppier side of MCS. Fun record.

Hoping they add Minneapolis tour dates. They do this with every tour and wait to add MN til the very last minute

Band had great closers and bsides too. Maybe MDL and PS didn’t stick out to me as much personally because they are a little less catchy? Not even sure if that’s true or just my perception.

I can definitely see PS not being as catchy. It's got some stranger songs that kind of blend together and don't feel as dynamic as their other stuff. If I remember correctly they recorded it live which was a first for them so maybe that's why it just doesn't sound as strong.

I Can Feel You is fucking great though.

Also, TKO and Lose Control are two of the weirdest songs they've ever done because they sound like they're from a band who has heard MCS singles and is trying to replicate them. They don't have the punch or the energy.

I remember when TKO and Lose Control came out people online were like "Play this at 1.25 speed. Fixed it for you."

Those songs are just strange to me.

MDL deserves SO much more love. The Weakends is their second best closer (behind Hold Me Down, obv).
