I get that statistically it's most likely to hit water, but I'm not hearing anything reassuring in any of what's being said - more just like people shrugging and throwing their hands up and being like 'yeah there's not much we can do. who knows, it'll prob just hit water though.' NBD.

And not only is the earth 70% water, but lots of the land is uninhabited too! Way more than 100ft!

I felt a little tired the day after but mostly fine. I wouldn’t make plans though, tons of folks feel awful. Did you have Covid?

 

me thinking about that rocket

 

Literally the night before I heard of the rocket crash, I watched an episode of Last Man On Earth where a satellite crashed into a nuclear power plant, so I have that lovely little nugget in the back my head now lol

 

I can see one from my house. 5 miles away. Cooooooool.

 

This reminds me of when I saw the Oscar-winning film Gravity and freaked out about the possibility of satellites/rockets crashing into each other in space and creating their own miniature meteor belt, like in the Oscar-winning film Gravity.

Then I looked it up and learned that there are only several thousand in orbit and realized just how improbable it would be for that to happen in a way that posed a serious danger

 

Listen, the scientists know the truth. Their final role in all this is to be like the musicians on the titanic. At this point, they don’t want us spending our last moments thinking of the impending doom.

But they all know we’re fucked.

 

The rocket is going to hit NYC right as Elon Musk takes the stage at SNL
