I love the sound, feel, and songwriting on those first two records! Extremely formative for me! There's some great slowcore on Airplanes! It's a perfectly based opinion to have!

 

There was a period early on in high school where I was just listening to like Something About Airplanes, How Strange, Innocence, and This is a Long Drive For Someone With Nothing to Think About every night in bed and those are three debut albums that will forever stick with me

Like the Exorcist, But More Breakdancing, too. Something very charming about hearing the debut from a band you admire and thinking "I might actually be able to write and record a record that sounds like this." It's fun hearing a band figure out who they are imo

 

yeah, airplanes is like Ben writing a Pedro the lion album imo. that's what I love about it

"Bend to Squares" is the only song I've ever loved on Airplanes. The rest is fine, huge jump up on Facts.

 

Photo Album is probably my favorite at this point. We cover We Laugh Indoors a lot. One of the best songs. Love those D Plan guitars and the eerie synths. Gridlock Caravans rules too.
